I would honestly just learn how to draw one specific gun. I have a character that loves a particular gun so I don't have to worry about different types.

Oh, try to use references. Our memory distorts images, and when we use memory things turn out different from reality. I used to try doing it with no help, but I watched a few youtube videos and found out that was one of the issues. ;-;
