Why not do it like me? I take a background and an objective, then I just let it happen. I learn the characters and keep throwing things at them, it forms a story

Alright will do.
C1 wakes up in a strange room they look around but soon they notice that they only remember a small selection of the items in front of them.
This is when C2 and C3 walk in , They ask C1 some questions.
The room turns out to be a guest room at a school for the " gifted " , They then explain to C1 how they were found in a cell inside of a rouge agency HQ.
C1 is admitted into the school where they meet C4 and C5 two pupils who don't really understand their abilites and because of this they have a tendency to act out.
C6 and C7 are pupils who have been at the school for a long time, C4 and C5 tend to fight with them a lot.
But with a threat of a civil war and a war with the regular humans.
It sounds like the x - men but it really is different. -

Hmm that's a good idea , so what do you think of the plot I do have the characters set up.

Humans are intimidated. The gifted shouldn't exist without a common enemy, so the humans want to strike first. They fear that the gifted will take over, they don't see them as human. So your character pov would be showing the human side to the gifted

It's pretty good, but I tend to avoid the subject. I've seen that one a few times, I enjoy original subjects that haven't been seen.

That's the rough outline there are little twists and things but that's why I was asking for help I'm not happy with it. I do have another plot which I'm a little happier with.

That was the general plan but it was more they want to enslave them and use them for their own purposes and kill the ithers.

Just start it. I'm seeing alot of flashbacks and personal problems between all of the characters. When the war comes then it'd be banding together of all the issues into one team that works.

Yeah this is the second plot.
C1 awakens down in the sewer as they start to get a control of their surroundings two figures appear C2 and C5 they interrogate C1 , it is discovered C1 remembers little an incident reveals that C1 is in fact one of the few humans with a special ability , They are taken back to the base of the outcasts the others who each have a special ability.
C2 and C3 are the two in charge while they investigate C1's appearance C1 gets to know some others.
Including C4 , C6 , C7 and C5 . C5 and C4 don't really understand their abilites and tend to act out because of this , they also get into constant arguments with C6 and C7 , those two have been part of the outcasts for a very long time.
While the secrets about C1 and the others start to unfurl as they bond , The news of war begins to stir .
But it's not just the general human vs gifted war theirs rumours of a civil war between the gifted themselves.
The question is will the Outcasts be ready for war? Or are they doomed to fail?
