Congratulations, Mom. You have succeeded in raising three children that now have little or no affection for you. You could have said something, even just one little thing to encourage me, to tell me that you love me and you're proud of me, but you didn't. You adopted my brother and sister and homeschooled all three of us, but then you made sure we knew that you wished you hadn't. You never congratulated me for all the contests I won; instead you gave gave me five lectures about being humble when everyone else did congratulate me. You said so many things that you probably don't even remember saying, but they had a huge effect on me. The only reason I practiced and worked so hard at piano was because you said that I would never be good at it. I only ever learned flute because you said I was too little to do it. You always said that you were protecting me from the big bad world, but were you? It treated me much better than you ever did. You taught me about God and took me to church every week, but I'm not blind. Your life reflected the absolute opposite of what you were telling me. I did believe what you told me for a long time, but you've ruined it. If there is a God out there, I don't believe in him. And it's all your fault. Why did you take me off the Internet? I was happy here! These people cared about me more than any of my "friends" in the relationships you arranged for me ever did. You could have cared more. You could have done a better job. But now it's too late.
