I actually know what binomial nomenclature is since I studied biology last year. -
Yeah. I wanted to give him a science-y themed name and make him a test lab experiment for human scientists to work on. So yeah. That's basically him. Backstories for characters don't have to be entirely realistic on Xanje.

What about the Rigor-Arnoldii-Praelium part? Is that also science?

Nah, those are just fancy last names that were attached to his names. Bonfire Arnoldii-Praelium and Cecil Rigor adopted him.
