  Leave the thread. Keeping it at the top of the first page will only cause more drama that isn't needed since it's just reminding everyone of the negative energy and more people will feel the need to jump in, then it'll turn into something way out of hand. Before even more conflict breaks out, I'd suggest that you guys let the thread die.
