Thread Topic: Anyone wanna Debate?
-
I would like to announce the topic as to 'The U.S. has not done enough to combating the ebola disease' If anyone would like to join feel free to but we need a Pro and a Con. I'll gladly be both but it will be up to the users to decide which side you shall want to be.

bruh
can I do this with you -
hell yes lol, im practicing as a third speaker anyway
-
anyways, you choose to be the Proposition or the Opposition your choice. Its a great way to practice for the new topics
-
I bet you'd do better. I suck at it.
But, I'll be Opposition, if you don't mind. -
Okay, that would be cool. I would now like to start the debate.
-
Wait are you busy for facetime?

From my perspective, I would say United States went halfway with combating Ebola, but not to the greatest extent of actually curing it thoroughly. With medicine, plus quarantine, certain patients have healed. Then again, quarantine wasn't 100% effective, because the severity of Ebola within the human body multiplies, and viruses never go away. They can be controlled, but never cured.

"POI's and or heckles should be included, but its up to you"
-
Regardless I would like to start the debate.
Intro: A deadly virus. The deadly virus of ebola is still out on the loose today. The US has not done enough to combat ebola and over 20,000 people are dying. A total of 800 are dying each day from Sept 2014 - Jan 2015. If the US does not do something fast and secure, we might be losing our population around the world.
Hi my name is Icical Dragon from GTQ and we the Proposition would like to strongly agree to the topic that the US has not done enough to combat ebola.
I would like to start defining some terms. We would like to mainly describe and or define ebola as a notoriously deadly virus that kills 90 percent of whom it infects.
I would like to go onto my first argument which is the US is not sending proper medical supplies to those in West Africa. -
The US are not sending proper medical supplies to those doctors and volunteers who are RISKING their own lived for the ebola disease, The US should not send any people at all if they cant even send any supplies whatsoever.
Evidence. According to the Fox News, a shipping container that was worth of 140,000 dollars of SUPPLIES was left in the docks of Sierra Leone, one of the mainly affected countries that have ebola. These supplies were left UNTOUCHED in the docks of the countries for 2 months ALONE. As there was a 6500 dollar shipping fee that was sent for more supplies in which the United STates government REFUSED to pay for due to the high costs of the shipping fees.
Although the US is helping and contributing SOME effort into the disease, these few boxes that are sent are left UNTOUCHED and are probably going to be delayed once again and the US is refusing to pay shipping fees to help the tens, fifteens, thousands of those in need that are suffering from the virus. -

Our second argument is that medical officials have lack of training into combating this disease.
Thousands of workers that are send into combating this ebola disease in Africa, yes they are helping, however the majority of workers are just VOLUNTEERS and have no experience whatsoever into combating this notoriously deadly disease.
According to the LA Times, 79 percent of nurses that were sent to Africa had NO TRAINING into combating ebola whatsoever. 37 percent have stated that their hospitals have LACKED SUFFICIENT SUPPLIES in order to combat this ebola disease.
There is no point into volunteers that are going to help fight against the ebola virus when they have NO experience themselves. This could essentially lead to the dying fact that they too, could get infected from this virus which will spread even more. -
