Yes, let's believe everything on wikipedia, the place that once claimed solar eclipses emit toxic gases that kill everyone.
-
Oh and excuse me, they actually reset every 10 minutes, which is still pathetic.
-
I'm also talking about house cats and house dogs. Just wanted to bring up the domestic cat's superior lineage. Where-as dogs only have wolves. And I will admit, wolves are bad-ass, but they just can't stack up.
Also, the reason cats do not respond to human words the way dogs do are because cats were simply bred to chase away mice, and were never trained to do any-thing more, as they served their purpose perfectly. Thus, milleniums ('bout 9) of servitude have rendered their care for human speech vastly low.
How-ever, domestic dogs were bred about 15,000 years ago and were vigorously taught by humans to do a various assortment of things... Like catching frisbees... And chasing mice... And other stuff.
Thing is, dogs have had a huge head-start in human-relative development than cat's have. This only means dogs under-stand humans more than cats, which could have very little effect on their actual brain. -
Let's believe every-thing on the CDC, the place that once thought AID's was caused by gay sex.
Thing is, I'm not just going to Wikipedia. That included, but other sites as well. -
You just basically said dogs are more capable of doings things than cats. Cats are a waste of space. We have mouse traps now.
-
actually for dogs to learn English as well as they can, they must have a much more complex brain than cats. Thats just like saying that dinos were bigger, and birds came from dinos, so should birds think the same way? i mean the brain size is the same, so they ahould think alike?
No. Same thing. -
And I think you forgot about foxes, dingos, hyenas, and coyotes.
-
Also, I just wanted to say that my dog knows English and Polish, while cats can't even remember they're own name. They don't respond at all when their name is callen.
-
Eh-ah.
Evidential claim
Cats have almost double the amount of neurons in the cerebral cortex! That's like comparing humans to dolphins! Dolphins are smart, but humans just pwn the s--- out of 'em!
Actually, no. I did not say dogs are "more capable of doings things than cats.". I specifically stated "Thing is, dogs have had a huge head-start in human-relative development than cat's have.".
20,000 years more. Sorry 'bout that last thing, I got this s--- from Huffington Post.
Essentially, that's like saying child A's smarter than child B because child A listens to their father more. While it shows more attention, it negates the display of intelligence. -
Actually, they do. They just don't care.
DAMMIT, LINK
Evidential claim -
who cares how many neurons they have I mean some whales have way bigger brains, and thus way more nurons than us, yet they haven't built huge structures like we have!
-
Actually, while they do have larger brains, they do not have more neurons than a human being. Also, you gotta take in-to account the advantages a human has when it comes to their body. Fully functional straight, muscular legs and grippable 4-fingered, single-thumbed hands. If whales had that, they could do some stuff too.
But any-ways.
Dogs have larger brains.
But less neurons.
Thus less neuron path-ways.
Also, if you look in-to studies observing solo cats, you'll notice they do exceptionally well when doing things them-selves, and very rarely plead to a human's, or any other species', aid. Where-as dogs beg for help with their lil' ole' puppy-eyes after, on average, the second try. -
I love the evolution of this thread.
In the first stage, Br0wnieBunny congratulated you for turning 14.
In the second stage, we bickered at each other saying our own favorite feline/canine was smarter by using fool-proof, legit facts such as "they s--- on carpets", or "cats are fwuffy", and the great theory that made Einstein famous, "cats are superior to humans".
To an actually legitimate argument debating the intelligence of felines and canines using legit facts taken from sites... At-least mine are. -
whatever. we could go on forever over whether cats or dogs are bettter and smarter and never get anywhere...
-
Mine are as well. And dogs are smarter than cats.
