Cassandra, Cass for short, was laying down in her front yeard. She loved the feel of the soft ground on bare feet.

My friend, Grud, came over today for a swim. The property of my house overlapped the beach, so we didn't have to pay to take a swim like the rest of the town. I wasn't in the mood for swimming.

The sun was getting covered by clouds, and the breeze grew chillier. I saw Grud walking out of the water.

Cass was new to the town. She had just moved in with her mother, after her father was badly injured in a car accident.

Psyche was perched on a gravestone, spirits of the deceased lingering nearby.
