My name is Kyubey! Would you like to make a contract with me? The contract is simple! I will grant you a single wish - any wish you desire! In exchange for that wish, I will create your Soul Gem and you'll become a Magical Girl/Boy!
With the Soul Gem (your source of magic), it'll be your duty to fight witches and collect the grief seeds that appear after the witch has been defeated. The more grief seeds you gather, the more powerful you'll become!
Witches sew the seeds of all despair. So, you'll be helping out the entire universe by fighting these witches! All it takes is ONE wish, and you could be a Savior! I can explain more details later if you ask. But, we cannot form the contract until I have your consent.
