Just do a straddle, stretch to the side, and try to grab your toes. Then count to ten and switch. That's what I do.

I usually hold it for twenty seconds. Or if I want a really good stretch, I'll put on Pandora, and hold the stretch for about half of the song playing and then switch for the other half.

I'm still working on my handstand. I hate doing them against the wall, and I think the most I've held one was ten seconds, and I can't walk on my hands because I'm not strong enough.
