Clothes today: Faded-jean shorty shorts, a plaid tee shirt, Converse and a ball-cap.

Lexie tinkered around in the garage for a bit longer, wondering if Jason would show. But of course, he was probably of with Jess or Heather. Lexie sighed, and slammed the car door. Nobody would ever like her, a tomboy...

Lilean stood in front of Chad's house, hand in hand with the guy himself. He kissed her on the cheek, then walked up the porch and disappeared inside. When the door was shut, Lilean squeled in delight. Her first boyfriend!

Lexie biked down the dirt path to the beach. Michigan was pretty in the summer, and the water was warm. Lexie propped her bike against a small bush and kicked off her shoes, walking out into the waves up to her knees. Already it seemed to wash away her troubles.

Lilean ran down the street, past all the traffic, right to the railing overlooking the beach. She looked out across the water, spotting several black dots. Probably familys, gone for a day of swimming.
