(No! You are staying!)
I dropped the sword and saw most of camp was watching. Clarrise was at the front. How did we not notice them? "Good fight sis" I said and held out my hand, to help her up -
-
(Okay, i'm back.)
Annabeth: I gladly took Zair's hand and smiled. "You too." I straightened my armor and glanced to the crowd that had gathered. "Um...hi?" Clarisse folded her arms and frowned, looking between Zair and me. "Sis?" She asked, confused. -
"Yea Clarrise, sis. I knew my father, not my mother. She claimed me. I am a daughter of Athena, blessed by Hades and Ares. Got a problem with that?" I asked threateningly.
(Yup, new OC. Again.) -
(Wow. You have a lot of them.)
Clarisse: I held up my hands in surrender. "No, I'm good with that. Makes sense, I guess."
Annabeth: "Don't worry about Clarisse. She's had a rough week." I thought back to the bulls earlier this week, which made me think of Tyson, which led to Percy. I stabbed my knife in the dirt and walked away, scowling. -
I wondered why Annabeth was suddenly so... what's the word? Glum? Mad? Well, I ignored it and went to put my weapons away, just as Chiron came running closer
-
Chiron: "Hello, child. I heard about your claiming...Athena."
Annabeth: I suddenly felt bad for leaving Zair like that. But Percy...I shook my head. Don't think about Percy. I told myself. It'll only make you more upset. It didn't help that I had to hear all about Percy and his brother from the Aphrodite girls. I took a book off a shelf in my cabin and took it outside to read. -
"Yea. Blessed by two, so the gods must really like me"
-
Chiron: I looked around nervously. "Go back to your activities!" I told the remaining campers who had gathered. "There is nothing of any importance here!" I turned to Zair. "Zair, I need to tell you...I won't be staying at Camp. I've been...fired."
-
"Why?"
-
*No POV*
Chiron stared at the ground, troubled and sad. "Thalia's tree, which protects the camp and strengthens the borders, has been poisoned with an old venom from deep in the Underworld. Someone was to blame, and the gods have found no culprit." -
"So, they're firing you? Isn't there some way to reverse the poison?"
-
(Nashy, I know you're on! So please return to Camp half-Blood and bring the Stolls too!)
*No POV*
Chiron smiled sadly at Zair. "There is one thing, but..." He frowned. "It hasn't been seen in centuries." -
I searched my memory. "The golden fleece?" I guessed
-
Chiron: "Yes, the fleece. But I'm afraid that no one, alive anyway, knows where it is." I rested my hand on her shoulder. "I should be going. Train hard, and prepare for your own quest. I'm sure you'll have your own adventure."
