Travis and I felt a strange urge to sit down and immediatly we both did. -
I let go of Lyra's hair. "Why should I sit? Maybe I should hurt you too"

I looked at Zair calmly and said, "Zair, put the knife down"

I stared hard at the girl- Zair. "Sit. Down. Now." I ordered. In a blinding flash of light, I fell against a table. I looked down at my clothes, after thinking that they felt weird.
"Oh. My. Gods." I groaned. I was wearing the purple toga and gold bands from my dream. My hair, thankfully, was done in a graceful braid, with gold and silver strands braided through my hair. A mark in the shape of a dove shimmered on my right bicep. "Venus," I said loudly.
Chiron stamped his feet again. "All hail Nicki Hale, daughter of Aphrodite." -
Travis and I shared a glanced and grin, Connor looked at both of us and all of us cheered at the thought, Wonderful, a new Aphrodite kid, she'll get accustommed to our ways soon, I laugh her cabin warn her about us, that would be funny.

I stared, horrified, at my mark. I mean, seriously? The goddess of love, my mother?! No way. There had to be a mistake. "This is a mistake," I voiced. "I mean, I never...I hate...this cannot be happening to me." I groaned.

I raised my hand and said, "Maybe your sleeping, I can slap you if that will help", everyone rolled their eyes while some chuckled, I shrugged, "What? I'm trying to be helpful!"

I put away the dagger. One of the girls at the Ares table called me over

A few girls who looked like life-size Barbies waved at me. I touched my hair again. "Really, Mother? Couldn't have let me keep my short hair?" I muttered. One of my half-sisters looked at me sympathetically. "Don't worry, it won't last forever. Only a couple of days. You can change your clothes, though."
I nodded and sat down. "Thanks." -
I must admit, I felt envious of the girl, its her first day and she's already been claimed, I sometimes wondered whether my godly parent really wanted me, the closest thing I had to one was Artemis, she would visit me occasionally and send messages too, yet my parent completely ignored me, I sighed sadly to myself and ate the food on my plate, remembering to leave a bit so I could send my usual prayer, asking to be claimed

I saw that everyone was looking at their plates, and saying names of food. I looked at my own, and remembered my favorite meal: Chicken Enchiladas. I saw two of them appear on my plate, and I smiled. I stood up, and followed some other kids to a fire pit. I stared at the smoke, and dropped an enchilada into the fire. "Thanks, I guess, Mom. You too, Jupiter."

I felt comforted by the flames of the fire, as I dropped my food inside, I felt flames curl around me, "Please claim me soon", I felt a sting on my shoulder but I ignored it and walked away, I felt Travis's arm around my shoulder.
Travis: I placed my arm around her shoulder, her eyes had that disapointed look in them that they always had after sending a prayer, "Hey, know what will cheer you up, how about we scare some Aphrodites?" I notice her smile slightly and she soon replied, "Yeah...that'd be fun" -
