I saw a girl standing there and narrowed my eyes in a threatening "go to hell" expression. But my gaze softened, as memories from the past came back for no reason.

She took a deep breathe and shifted, trotting away quickly, trying to avoid him. Him....no...it couldn't be...

Jill? I asked, my voice older by many magnitudes than before.

she whimpered a bit and kept running. She didn't want to remember him...re-connect with him..it would only bring trouble.

I blinked, several times, just standing there. Then I ran in an opposite direction, remembering what she had said years ago.

*Wait.* she said in his mind, stopping still.

I stop, and turn back.

She shifted back into human form, noticably prettier than before. "B-before we run again....l-life....how's it....been?" she asked nervously, wondering if she should re-connect with him again.

I shift back, my face more rugged than before with new scars. Seeing her now, almost took my breath away. "I, uh, Its been... Okay, I guess. How are you?"

"Fi- I mean...not fine...' she mumbled, looking down.

"Were just torturing ourselves," I say softly, turning my back.

Jill nodded. "yea..." she said softly, almost in a whisper.

I almost wanted to say that I missed her... Which in the first few months drove me insane...

"Hey...michael...i uh...i kinda....ehm..." She said, unable to speak properly.

I looked at her from the corner of my eye, "hmm?"
