Undergarments (defined as anything worn under the outermost layer of clothing including gym shorts) will not be visible, even through clothing (e.g. see-through light colored pants/shirts or see-through thin/distressed t-shirts). Beach attire, spandex or other stretchy materials are prohibited.
Clothing, jewelry, and accessories shall not convey messages that are: rude, vulgar/profane, violence/death oriented, gang-related (including known gang colors, gang related jewelry, eyebrow notching or any other known gang-related expressions as defined by our local police department), sexually suggestive (e.g. playboy bunny), or promote alcohol, drugs, or tobacco use.
HEADGEAR: Students are not allowed to wear headgear (e.g. baseball caps, transparent stocking caps, do-rags, bandanas, sunglasses, sweatbands and hoodies. Additionally, headgear should not be visible at anytime during the school day (clipped on belts, hanging on backpacks, etc.)
HAIR: Brightly colored, unnatural hair dyes or extreme hairstyles are prohibited.
UPPER GARMENTS: All upper garments must entirely cover the students back, shoulders, underarm, and midriff (stomach and waist area). Crew necked style shirts are encouraged. Tank tops and low-cut necklines no longer allowed. Cleavage is not to be visible at anytime. All upper garments must have a sleeve that covers the shoulders and back completely. Short or long sleeves are acceptable. Material excessively thin that shows undergarments (e.g. distressed T-shirts) are not authorized for wear. Outerwear (such as jackets, sweatshirts or hoodies) is not to be worn to cover dress code violations.
The following upper garments are prohibited: Tube tops, halter-tops, muscle shirts, tank tops, sports bras worn as shirts, pajamas, beachwear, and barebacked clothing (even if these are worn under overalls, jackets, or sweaters). Distressed T-shirts, thin t-shirts that allow undergarments to be seen, off-shoulder and low-cut shirts and other skin tight styles are similarly prohibited.
LOWER GARMENTS: Pants, jeans, cropped pants, shorts, and skirts are considered acceptable attire. Lower garments shall be worn at the waist and shall NOT extend below the heel of the shoe in length. Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be mid-thigh. Pants on all students should be worn at the waist and not low riding. Leggings may only be worn under dress code appropriate lower garments (e.g.under skirts/dresses/shorts that come to mid-thigh).
The following lower garments are not allowed: Pajamas, tights, spandex, leggings, jeggings, bicycle shorts, short-shorts, miniskirts, beachwear, and other skin tight styles. Lower garments with rips or tears are also not allowed.
FOOTWEAR: All backless shoes (including flip flops and slides) are not allowed. No soft soled shoes are allowed--all shoes must have hard soles.
JEWELRY/ACCESSORIES: Accessories shall follow the guidelines listed above. Wrist coverings and gloves (for arm and/or hands) are not allowed. Pierced jewelry worn at school shall be limited to the ear. Clear plastic spacers or retainers may be worn only for pre-existing piercings. Spacers are not allowed for new piercings obtained during the school year (between August May). Band-Aids are not to be worn to cover up facial piercings.
