  I know what you mean, their lyrics are so crappy!
  
  But some of it is good. ^^
  
  When I listen to Avant Garde or Black Metal, sometimes even Gothic, I realize how much more talented it is.

  Most Metal takes just as much talent as Classical, which is by far the hardest genre to play.

  Uh huh, you know, my friend was asking me the other day how I could listen to Metal, and that it was "All the same stuff," truth is, it's so different and so much more creative than any other genre.

  If it were "all the same stuff", then how could you explain all those flame wars between Death Metal and Deathcore? Deathcore comes from Death Metal, and yet has a completely different sound!

  I know, I also read somwhere that Metal actually came from Rock.
  
  When I compare Avant Garde to Black Metal, or Gothic Metal to Thrash, I really see the difference, in the way the musical style is, and even the lyrics themselves.

  Actually, Metal doesn't come from rock, it comes from Blues and Classical. Surprising at first, but if you really listen to it, you can really see where the Metal is.

  Ya, Classical with a lot of the instrumentals, and Blues too. Blues I think actually had a big influence with the vocals too, if you listen to it, it actually kind of sounds like they are death growling.

  Y'know when I listen to some Metal, it literally sounds like Disco or Classical or sometimes Jazz.

  I know right? Ya, and in this documentary (Metal: A Headbanger's Journey ) they were all saying like Mozart would've probably been in a Metal if he were around at that time.
