So I have my singing assessment in a couple of months and I want to choose my song now so I can get it perfect. It has to be clean and it's a high school performance assessment. I'm a suprano but I can sing high alto. My range is sort of high alto to middle suprano. I wanted to know if you guys can help.

Well that depends o.o singing assessment for what? Choir? Go for something classical, they like that better than pop..

Well, it really depends on the teacher but I suggest going with someone you already know and love.

The singing assessment is for my singing lesson and my teacher doesn't mind which song I do just as long as I do it good. Thanks for the advice.

FLgirl92 NewbieSo it sounds kind of like you're a mezzo-soprano. The one singer I know of who is a mezzo is Beyonce, so I'd go with one of her songs. "Halo" would actually be a good choice, though she goes deep into alto in the verses. If you can get the low notes, go for it.
