Mercy Tree - Lacey Sturm
On a hill called Calvary
Stands an endless mercy tree
Every broken weary soul
Find your rest and be made whole
Stripes of blood that stain its frame
Shed to wash away our shame
From the scars pure love released
Salvation by the mercy tree
In the spot between two thieves
Hung the blameless Prince of Peace
Beaten, battered, scarred, and scorned
Sacred head pierced by our thorns
It is finished was His cry
The perfect Lamb was crucified

Three days in darkness far below
Death hearkens from an age ago
The ancient promise that we waited for so long
Has gone away
All hope is lost, left upon that cross
A bloodstained robe
It seems redemption's dream has died
Visions and the prophecies all washed away in vain
Groanings of creation as it cries out in pain
Sacrosanct the stories of what is and what will be
All foretold this was supposed to end so differently
All nature mourns in unison
Creation forms its requiem
Branded with the mark of sin and shame
A life laid down, a cursed name
A crown forsaken, burden, blame
Another cycle just the same
Is this the end of Promise
Dying all alone?
Easter morning's Son will rise
Radiance warming tearstained eyes
The Son of Man shall be raised up on the third day
The grave denied
Run and see the stone has rolled away behold the way
They're trembling in terror at the grave
(Is this an empty promise, that we've been waiting for?
Because I'm so afraid to get my hopes up anymore
Is this a cruel illusion? Or could it really be
The miracle of miracles unfolding right in front or me?)

Absolution Day - Theocracy
The stage is set
A courtroom where I stand shackled in chains
No defense to fight the charges brought against my name
Guilty on all counts and the penalty is death
I cannot say a word because I have no words to say
For I deserve the final judgment brought on me today

"Wait! No more!"
Suddenly another takes the stand
my Advocate
To plead my case, a perfect, blameless man
"I will take his penalty
(I'll pay his price)
Place the judgment all on Me
(Not guilty)
And let him go free"
Bound in chains
I owed a debt that I could not pay
Standing guilty in every way
When grace and mercy brought absolution
Adonai, I raise my hands to the sky in praise
For You have taken my sin away
Behold, today is my absolution day
Only the death of the One could make the sacrifice complete
The Lamb has sprinkled His own blood upon the mercy seat

Burn the stain of sin away

All you heavy laden, enter in

No priest can say I'm worthy
No sacraments or holy laws can take my sin away
No church can wash my spirit clean
For the scarlet stain that paints my soul to sleep runs way too deep
No blessed holy water can sanctify me in the eyes of God
The great I AM
But He has made provision to lift me up and wash me in the blood of the spotless Lamb
For Christ alone is worthy to pay the price to set all sinners free
For even me
When all works fall short and efforts fail
I realize that faith alone's the key
Absolution for all who believe
