Thread Topic: Question for piano players.

What do you do to help you blend left and right hand melodies together?
Like i'm using the memory hand where I memorize right, and play left from the page, but that isn't really helping me.
What techniques do you use? -
Try a petal.
-
.o. I see.
-
O.o you meant pedal, right?
-
*laughs* silly me, yes, a pedal*. *chuckles lightly at my dull mistake*.
-
Xp it's fine.
.o. how long have you been playing piano? -
Since I was five. I was never taught though, but I always played by ear so I am not very good. How long have you been playing?
-
Damm it. That makes no sense.. I should probably like not go to sleep at three in the morning anymore, it hurts my grammar.
-
.o. woah, for a while then. .o.
^~^ haha, only six months.
A lot if people go to sleep late, don't worry. It made sense. -
Yeah, I guess.
You learn the most in your first year, so this is an advantage. I wish I had the correct materials in my first year; you are lucky, use this time to learn as much as you can.
Okay, and good. But I should still probably sleep more. I am working tomorrow so I shouldn't be up all night. -
Oh no, the piano course is over. ;~; The rest of the learning is up to me. That's why i'm asking all of you.
.o. in that case you probably should. .o. -
I usually read from the sheet music. I start with the right hand first, and play the melody over and over again until I'm comfortable with it's pattern. Then I do the same thing only with the left hand harmonies. Then I have to try to put it together with both hands. Even if it's slow at first, eventually it gets really smooth and you can even memorize the whole song by heart.

.o. I see. Thanks.

I hate playing the piano but I do it anyway. (My mum forces me to). I play first the right hand. Then the left. I repeat this a couple of times and then leave the song practice till later. After like, 2 weeks or so, I can play the song with both hands of by heart.
