I'm gonna have to say Venom, they did a lot for Thrash Metal, Black Metal, and Death Metal.

Hmm two bands come to mind for me; Flyleaf because a lot of their lyrics are powerful and Lacey's screams are really good. And Smashing Pumpkins because I just love their sound, it's very unique from other 90s alternative rock bands.

Koolz. What's kind kool is that Venom came out in the 70s with just the regular Heavy Metal Bands.
