Opinions on Rap.
Go -
Questions:
1. What do you think about other minorities listening to it?
2. Do you listen to it already?
3. If so, which artist?
4. Do you listen to them because their race plays a role?
5. Do you hate it? If so, why?
6. Would you ever try it?
7. What if I gave you certain artist or songs to try?
Eh... I noticed a few things so now I'm curious. -
8. Do you have a different opinion about mainstream rappers?
9. Do you think they're all terrible?
10. Do you think all rappers in general, are terrible? -
1. I honestly don't care what other people do with their time.
2. Yes, on occasion.
3. Eminem, MC Frontalot, some guy I can't remember the name of right now.
4. No. If I wanted to listen to n-----s shout angrily I'd open a window.
5. I think it's rather shallow to hate an entire genre irrationally.
7. Give me some suggestions anyway. Who do you listen to?
8. If they stick to their own songs I have no issue with mainstream rappers. It's this trend of putting rap in the middle of decent songs that annoys me. It's blatantly there only because that's 'the formula' that sells music.
9. 90% of everything is terrible.
10. Rap is a genre like everything else.
Though, to be fair, it's only when someone breaks the mold and uses rap differently from everyone else that I notice it.
Eminem is a lyrical genius.
MC Frontlot rarely takes himself seriously.
The third guy used his voice more as bass for the music than an actual lyrical rap.
Seriously, I don't need another hood song. -
The main suggestion I have is Kendrick Lamar. He's my favorite rapper. Intelligent, true to himself, and writes amazing lyrics. Some of his songs are vulgar like the mainstream shiz, but they actually have meaning to them and stays on theme with whatever album it's on. Like, Good kid m a a d city. It's an album about his life on Compton and how he was sometimes peer pressured and such by his friends. And things about growing around gang violence. This doesn't have to do with his music, but I respect the fact that he doesn't do drugs or drink alcohol. Songs by him I would suggest are: Swimming Pools(drank), The art of Peer pressure, Keisha's song, Opposites attract.
The others would be Eminem(though you already listen to him)
Left eye, though you won't be expecting any new songs from her since she died in 2001 I think
T.I, I don't listen to him anymore. Listen closely to his songs Dead and Gone and Live Your Life
Tyler the Creator, he's alright. Most of his songs are EXTREMELY vulgar and consist of racial slurs, homophobe, and violence against women lyrics. He also talks a lot about his father, and a lot of the lyrics are morbid. This stuff is verrrryyy yeah... But I listen to him anyway.
Kid Cudi - I heard he was a good rapper and jumps to different genres
Big Sean - Good, for a mainstream artist
J Cole - Produces beats and rhythms. I heard he was good too
Tech n9ne - I heard a freestyle by him and he seems good. Amazing flow
Tupac - Well he's a legend so I mean
Notorious BIG - Same with him -
Okay... just listened to Tech n9ne's Blackened The Sun. Slightly creeped out.

Yea, I have to agree with you on Tyler the Creator. I was personally chased away by his lyrics, but I have the feeling there's more to them if I'd take the time to listen closer.

1.They have their own opinions, I don't care.
2.Yes, I've been listening to it for a long time.
3.Mostly Eminem, sometimes Jay-Z and Pitbull.
4.Nope, not because of race.
5.No, I don't hate the genre but yes, I have a strong disliking for Akon's rap.
6.Umm....lets see...I try it when I am in the bathroom.
7.Eminem is fine.
8.Yeah,same what IHLAOY said. Rap too, like other genres, is a form of music, and just using it in middle of songs for profits, I don't feel its good.
9.Yeah, sometimes.
10.Uhh....no. -
1. Meh.
2. Yeah.
3 Hollywood Undead mainly. Sometimes Lil' Mama or others.
4. Nope, cuz you can't really see Hollywood Undead's faces..
5. No, I just hate it when there is not point to the song or any beat you can really dig into.
6. I once was dared to rap Rap God, and I also rap Baby Got Back often XD
7.I prefer rock music, so no.
