So, a while back, Marilyn Manson claimed that the now-split band My Chemical Romance 'copied' him. Marilyn Manson is a controversial yet undeniably sucessful rocker, while My Chemical Romance is comparatively less well-known and more known for an alternative style. Do you guys have any opinions on that?

I like MCR too, but there's no denying that M.M. is very sucessful. I personally think that Lady Gaga sort of copied him, but not MCR.

*shrugs* I don't think there's really "copying" in music unless the band doesn't do anything themselves. I.E. don't play their own instruments, don't write the music.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Then again, people say Black Veil Brides "copies" Kiss with their preformance style, and I think there's something to be said for that type of thing.

MCR copied Manson's "goth" image, for sure, and worse yet, they didn't have the substance Marilyn Manson has as a performer and artist, which is why I personally think Manson outlasted MCR.

I find no similarity in their music. Not mentioning MCR is one of my favorite bands.
But if I were to compare Manson to a more similar band, a metal band, I prefer Cradle Of Filth.
Plus I don't get what this "goth" image is. We have over a thousand goths in the world. All of them copied Manson? -

When you think about it though, there isn't a lot you can do with the alternative image lol. Most alternative people generally look/dress the same.Black clothes/ tall boots, dyed hair, crazy black and white makeup.
