She barely got done writing the last letter down when the Forger burst through the door. She whispered the enchanted words and threw the letter out the window.
"You've gotta hurry up, Amy. I saw them about a half mile away at the Crystal's house. They were asking where you were. You know they can't risk saving you now, so we don't have much time!" This all came in a rush, like the words were raindrops plummeting to the ground. There was a panicky edge to the young man's usually unemotional voice.
"I know, Brother. I just sent the last one. Those Finders may be able to capture me, but they will never destroy the legacy." The confidence in her voice betrayed her deep feeling of doom and sense of doubt at her own words. "Come, Darren, we must see where my last letter lands." The two siblings walked over to a Tracer screen. Amy turned it on and said, "Show me my letter."
The screen out a scene of a clear night sky with a shooting star streaking across the scene. It then fell upon the letter drifting through the night air. A wisp of smoke floated up and circled the letter. Drifting lower, the flames came into veiw.
"If the Ruiners did this, then the Charity already knows more than we thought," she muttered to herself.
The letter floats onto a burning desk in a room that no longer has walls or a ceiling. "Location, please." A beep sounds and a card emerges from the side of the Tracer machine.
The Forger picks it up, but before he can say anything, a scream echoes up from the street. "Chloe!" the two twins shout in unison.
"You need to go to the last letter to make sure the receiver was not injured," Amy said urgently. "I'll take care of our enemies." She put on a coat and shoes. She grabbed a cell phone from a pile of discarded phones. "If the kid is injured of doesn't arrive within three days, call me. But if I'm captured, call him," she said, jerking her thumb to the photo of a man with the extreme likeness to Einstein.
Darren nodded, recognizing the picture. "Wait, Amy, you may have a lot of knowledge, but you haven't rested in days. You won't be able to take them by yourself."
"Who says I'm gonna be alone?" Amy asked, rhetorically, as she took a sword of a shelf. Suddenly a bird flew in through the open window and a tiger cub jumps down from the shadows. Darren flinches slightly, but Amy doesn't notice. As the tiger cub maximized in size and the bird turned into an intimidating-looking young girl in a poof of feathers, Amy walked out the door, sword in hand.
At the end of the hallway, she turned and said, "You can have Tigger to protect you, but I'm afraid Dahlia will have to come with me." As she said this, the young, fiery-haired girl strapped a dagger to her waist and pulled a quiver over her shoulder, taking a bow from another shelf. She then ran down the hall to join the older girl.
"Goodbye, my brother." She waved then turned the corner and went out of sight.
"Goodbye, my sister." -
