He looked at her as she stood in front of him now. Not the fragile, cheerful human he'd known and..fallen for. Her eyes were an empty gold, her golden ringlets loose with blood stained tips. The ouroboros was clearly visable on the right side of her neck, and red tendrals flowed from it, covering her entire body.
She looked from Envy to Pride, a confused expression on her face.
"Father says she's your responsibility. Congrats! Another blonde brat to babysit!"Envy laughed.
The girl blinked, and Pride's heart sank at the confused expression crossing her face. She didn't even remember who she was, let alone who he and Envy were...
"It's not babysitting, they help our cause, Envy."Pride said evenly, his golden eyes staring daggers at Envy.
Envy shrugged, "Whatever, I don't care."And left, disappearing out the door.
The girl collasped then, sitting on the floor, eyes narrowed.
"Who...am I?"She asked, looking up at Pride pleadingly, searching for an answer.
"You are..."He'd started to say her human name, and bit his tongue, drawing blood. "You are Ignorance."he said quickly. He regretted it as soon as he said it. How cruel could he be! Letting her die, then giving her a sick name like Ignorance..
She nodded slowely, eyes wide "And...who are you?"
"Pride."He said, giving a faint smile.
"Nice...to meet you, Pride."She said, standing up.
"Nice to meet you, too..."Pride said, voice cracking.
She didn't even notice, she'd went to investigate the house.
"Happy...birthday Heather."He sighed, looking at the clueless homunculus, wishing he could have been five minutes faster.
