So cold...so cold...it's white..it's snowing..
We lived in an Academy, one side for boys, the other for girls. It wasn't a school, it was a prison to us. All of us. We were different. No, we weren't vampires. No, we weren't werewolves. We were...
It was foggy as i got up, and as i looked up the window i saw snow fall gently. Where were the snowflakes, the snow in different patterns and shapes? It was going to rain soon, i could tell by the rumbling thunder and the ripping echo of lighting flashing throughout the white and greyish cloudy sky, showing no sun or light or warmth. Just the cold, cold prison where we dwell in with no peace. No, we weren't ghosts. No, we weren't bats.
I slipped out of my dark dorm where i shared with another girl. I walked down the corridor hall filled with the paintings of people and fruits and umbrellas and buildings. My favorite was the picture of two people doing the waltz. It looked like they were happy, the woman in the long snowy white dress and the man in the black tuxedo, holding her close in the dance. there faces were bright and rosy, the girl with beautiful blue, blue eyes like a raining ocean of colors of turquoise, dark blue, sky blue, all the colors of blue. one color, filled with many.
Her eyes..
They had color. They had light. She was light, the man was too. The man bold and glamorous, beautiful and handsome and brave.
I took my attention away and walked down the long staircase leading toward the playground.
The playground was a nightmare. All the children stared at me, about to cry. One boy played with a blue ball, but still gave his ful attention to me. We all looked at eachother.
"No way out," a girl whispered to another.
"No escape," a boy hummed to his friends.
"And no survival," i finished, our motto. All of us children knew it. The teachers hated it, but why should they. We were right. Prison was here, not bars behind crooks and theives. We weren't crooks, and that made it prison. Trapped for no reason.
No reason.. -
Soon my roomate, Cindy, came out. As usual she was pale and fragile looking. We sat together and watched all the othe children play.
"Day after day, will we ever be let out?" Cindy wondered out loud.
"It's not that bad," I say, trying to be upbeat. "I mean, they got to let us out sometime soon, they told us, rememeber?"
"But..but we'll never be accepted for who we are. They can tell..they can tell what we are."
"Then we'll hide our faces," I mumbled angrily.
"But..,"
"Cindy," I cried. "Shut up about that, you know i already know that we'll never be accepted, so don't go rubbing the truth in my face and mind your own business."
Cindy became quiet, and then walked away. It was normal. We usually fought often, but never said bad things. We just walk away. Being stuck in a stupid place like this made us fight often.
I sighed, and got up. I walked to the jungle gyms, thinking about climbing it. I put my hand around an upper bar and tightened my grip, but not too tight. I put my leg on the lower bar and lifted myself up, and climbed like a spider on its web, circling it and climbing. I stopped at the top, and sat down. I wondered if i should should apologize to Cindy. It wasn't her fault she said those things. She was just thinking out loud. It was me, i yelled at her. -
My thoughts were interrupted by a sound of a car's engine rumbling loudly like a purring kitten. A long black car drove in, on the other side of the fence. The fence that blocked us from freedom. The door opened, and two men in black suits got out. One of the men in the suits was carrying a whimpering girl. All of us started to whisper and mumble to eachother. The girl started to scream suddenly and kick and punch, clawing at the man's face. The other man held her arms and tried to soothe her, to calm her down.
