Prologue
The young teen walked slowly through the halls of the unfamiliar building, his ears, being overly sensitive, aching at all the yelling and laughing of groups of other students. He worked his way into a restroom.
The surroundings were unsanitary, as if they were to lazy to even bother with them, but at least it was more quiet. No one else seemed to be in the room, so he checked himself in one of the mirrors, using the sinks, the only clean appliances - probably because they were never used; sick! He wet his hands and flattened a few pieces of hair and headed back into the noise.
He searched for his homeroom, having trouble finding it and being unable to get help from anyone else around, since they didn't seem to want to listen to him. He was the new kid after all. So he just looked for it on his own, ending up late. He wasn't blamed for it though, the teachers would understand the first few days.
The middle-aged woman greeted him warmly and made him stand in the front of the room, which somewhat irritated him because of his inability to communicate and that this was highschool, not kindergarten.
"Why don't you introduce yourself to the class? And perhaps one thing about yourself." One of those teachers. He just stood there, silent as ever. "Come one. Don't be shy."
Don't be shy...He took a marker and wrote his name on the large whiteboard. This irritated her as he proceeded to write one thing about himself. "What is the meaning of this? You do realize you'll have to speak sometime." He stepped out of the way for the class to see.
My name is Fujimaru
I am mute, which means I cannot speak. I was born without vocal cords.
The instructor went silent for a moment then gestured for him to take a seat after he erased the writing. It was likely he might have to deal with a similar situation later. Perhaps he'll make a trip to his grade's office and ask them to send out an email to his teachers, obviously they don't know. -
Please continue. c: This is very good.

Chapter 1: It's A Start
Fujimaru had his head resting on the desk. It'd been a few days since he came to this new town, and so far he'd met no one who knew sign language. Although, he did make some friends that did their best to understand him, and it they couldn't, he'd write it. They were taking personal time to learn sign language so they could understand what he's saying. How kind of them.
He felt very small in the group. He was only around 5 feet tall and only one of the girls was around his height. The tallest was 5 foot 6, Evan, followed by Jay at 5 foot 5. But always did things to make him feel taller. Jay promised to get him some platform boots, he jumped at that chance. If he could scream, he probably would've.
He really liked Jay, the sweet redhead with hair that was so soft it was like betting a freshly brushed bunny. He had so much passion and kindness coursing through his body that it was practically contagious. Fujimaru didn't want pity for his uncontrolled condition, but the other still always felt and wished he could see what it was like for a day. He tried not to speak once, but that didn't work out.
Evan was the cool, popular guy in the group. He made friends as easily as making kool-aid. He was nice, funny, and no matter how you felt, he could make it all better. Jay calls him his 'lovable idiot', it was no secret that the two were lovers.
Then there was Jiro. He too flowed with passion and a sense of never depleting will and strength. He had a passion for drawing...and for his boyfriend as well. He was the one to introduce Fujimaru to the girls. How they cooed over his looks, made their boys a tad bit jealous. Okay, really jealous. But they knew better.
All four boys were new to the small-ish town. Jiro came first during the summer to stay with his boyfriend's father, who was remarried over the weekend after the silent boy came to down. Then about a month or so into the year, Evan and Jay showed up, coming from Europe. Although, original Evan's from Japan. His mother was American, his father Japanese. Jay is British, so he has an accent in his voice but it's not obvious anymore.
He sat with these friends at lunch, one of them always came through the line with him so they could help him choose and tell the ladies behind the counter what he wanted. Things weren't as difficult as he expected, it was honestly a really good start. -
moyashi? did you forget about this??? I really like it!
