I haven’t abandoned my story, I wrote like half a page yesterday I just don’t know where to take it-
Like ik the plot, the story, the char arcs and such-
IK where I want to get but idk how to get there if that makes sense-
Like thorn can bend time so and the old ringmaster has somehow possessed him (still tryna figure out lore) so he brings his past self into the future (who would be like 19 yrs old), Joi finds young thorn and they have to find a way to get the spirit of the old ringmaster (who’s character I still need to develop) out of thorn’s head and into oblivion -
Imma spend some time today developing the evil ringmaster’s char then maybe find a way in chapter 7 or 8 to have Joi find out about this guy and the performer’s struggles
Like I’m thinking Joi witnesses a show or “helps out” behind the scenes or chapter 7-8
And I’m still deciding if dove and Joi are gonna be all romance romance or if they’re just gonna be bestie boos -

BACKSTORIES
Moloch:
he grew up in a household where he was never good enough, so left home at 18 and was a magician for quite some time, travelling around the world. despite his powers being mainly fake tricks, he gained the ability to bend time as he wished. so he began a circus at 34, kidnapping supernatural humans (mainly adults but also some children (*cough* juno)) and making them perform for him in the circus. he was corrupt and obviously treated them poorly. when gloria defeated him and took over the circus, he died but his spirit was brought back by a traitor i haven't decided yet
gloria:
his mother left when he was very young, so he was very close to his father, who was a supernatural being (could bend light (no he's not an airbender)), which was a very rare power so he was kidnapped while gloria was sleeping. he was attending this circus, recognised his father performing, then witnessed the man die of starvation and overworking himself. he was depresso and tried to confront moloch about it, but got kidnapped bc moloch couldn't let it spread to the public that he was a bad guy. gloria saw how horribly the performers were being treated but he didn't have a special ability so he worked backstage most of the time, and teamed up with the performers and defeated moloch, took over the circus. he gained moloch's power to bend time and ran the circus with kindness, everyone was happy and he gained performers, but because he'd gained moloch's power he'd also gained his spirit bc somebody *evil* was summoning him back. 2 years after he took over the circus he was just as bad as moloch and elliot broke up w him bc he was being hurtful, but certain things triggered him out of the evilness but these triggers grew less and less and Joi has to snap him out of it before there's no gloria left
juno:
basically she was kidnapped at five years old. she lost control of her ice powers in the street after her parents abandoned her (for fear of the authorities and her powers) and was not taken against her will, but was persuaded by Moloch to join him (because 5 year olds are naive and dont know stranger danger). she's been at the circus a majority of her life, and gloria was her best friend despite the age gap for the longest time. he cared for her and was like an older brother or father figure, but when he grew mean too she got scared of him, but she still loves him the way a sister would love an older brother (if anyone compares her to elsa or jack frost i will murder somebody)
dove:
so basically as she went through puberty, she started growing these dove wings out of her head. her parents took her to many doctors and hospitals but there was no solution, and while she was in hospital to get them removed, the hospital floor caved in under her and she appeared in gloria's basement at 13 years old, became a performer, etc etc
Blaze:
similar to juno's backstory, he lost control of his powers, but he was given away at 1 because he accidentally set his house on fire when he was throwing a tantrum. he didn't kill anybody but his parents cared too much about him to let the authorities take him and conduct experiments on him, so they gave gloria custody, not knowing the ringmaster was evil. blaze was raised mainly by juno and bug bc gloria neglected him in the basement. none of the performers really know what happened to him, because gloria was evil-evil and didn't tell any of them
i've been working on lore for hours imma be so mad if i abandon this story -
the amount of times my friends have compared juno to elsa is sad
i'm just putting it here bc i have nowhere to put it lmao -
Ok I’ve changed some stuffs
Lucifer (Joi’s stepdad) is still gonna be a Gabe-like jerk and so is Joi’s stepbro but I’ve changed the stepdad’s name to David for no particular reason other than when I think of the name Lucifer I think of Lucius Malfoy so um yh
