I shook in horror. I couldn't do that to Gemma but...
Anything I wanted? I could get my Dad to stop drinking and have a better relationship with my Mum! But could I really betray Gemma? And what would happen to me if I didn't? Something worse then death! I shivered biting my lip. -
I did what any human would've done in that situation. I wrote down her name. And then I immediately regretted it. Now what would happen? Would I lose my best friend forever? Would something terrible happen?
I snapped the book shut. Anyway, what could a book do? I shook my head, disappointed in my own insanity, and threw it in the waste bin. What could happen? -

I decided my best option was too call Gemma. I dialled her number and listened too it ringing before it went too voice mail. I rang again, and again and again. What had I done? Gemma always had her phone with her! Maybe it was on silent?
'Calm down' I told myself and texted her three times too make sure the message got through. -
10 hours later.
No reply. Still no reply. I've stayed up till two in the morning and I'm so tired but I can't close my eyes. I mustn't because the second I do I will fall asleep, and then I might miss the reply. I try too calm myself by dutch-braiding my hair. It's a complicated technique so it should stop me from distracting myself with thoughts of Gemma.
