if you can't wrap your mind around the concept that language is ever-evolving then maybe you're the one who doesn't understand english. I know you think you stumbled upon something profound here, but you sound incredibly ignorant. maybe read an english book or something. I know a Business English textbook I can recommend to you if you're interested
-
Oh hey here's a good one
It's 2013 so it might be a little outdated but it's on sale and a good starting point -
No ravager, no you didn't. Admit it. You used the same joke. You're not that clever.
you say to the resident wiseass. -
Ravager, you're not smart.
-
language is ever-evolving
English is a language with no authority of any kind; that is the only reason it's "ever-evolving".
Not to mention that it doesn't change the fact that the suffix and prefix combo still mean that, even if they are commonly used incorrectly. -
You used the same joke.
And, actually, I DIDN'T. the "original" joke was an implication of the word meaning a fear of GAY PEOPLE. You have no evidence to prove that I stole it, because YOU AREN'T ME. -
maybe read an english book
You say that like I haven't. -
And you have no evidence you didn't steal a joke while I do have evidence.
The quote.
That you stole.
From the joke.
🤔
Also, hi!!! English major here!! Shut the f--- up! You're wrong. English is ever-evolving. All language is.
It's because language is how we express ourselves you stupid f---ing child.
Humans gave the words the meaning ravager.
Thus humans. Can. Change them. Ravager.
Do you understand?
Are you like 12?????
This isn't hard to understand.
Stop acting like you're so smart, whne you don't know how language works. -
I say that like you haven't because you act like you haven't
-
Stop using your chappy understanding of how language evolution works to justify being a bigot.
Just say you don't like gay people and move on -
All language is.
This is the same argument used by people who actively support the word latinx, so why should I be listening to you?
and it still doesn't change the fact that the suffix "phobia" means a fear of someone or something, and the prefix "homo" means same.
Also, *when. *12?, and i don't even know what "Humans gave the words the meaning ravager." means. Multiple mistakes, I win -
say you don't like gay people and move on
why would I say that if it's not true? -
justify being a bigot.
Dry is the last thing I'd expect to be used in reference for me.
Also, talk about putting words in my mouth. -
Bruh.
That's not the same thing. That's a different argument entirley.
Referring to a group of people is a label chosen by that group.
Are far as I'm aware, the latine community do not like the term Latinx for the most part, because they already have the gender neutral Latine.
BTW they have gender neutral terms there all ready.
Latinx was a white cis het idea from what I remember.
You should listen to me because I know what I'm talking about and don't think I'm the smartest person on a quiz website because I read one English book, one time.
I studied language development.
I also know 4 languages.
That makes me a little bit more experienced than you.
There's no way you're over 14. You behave like a petulant child when people tell you not to joke about communities you're not part of. -
Also, highlating my spelling errors when I've stated not to be a native English speaker and it's well known that I have learning difficulties, is ableist and jsut pointless.
You know what I was saying.
But since apparently you've never been to an actual school:
Humans. Gave. Words. Meaning. Ravager.
You dumb f---
