Where should I begin? Maybe when I was 7 years old. Thats when I became depressed. (And thats the only age where I can remember many things.)
7 year old June woke up and gave a big yawn. She smiled and pat her princess bed, but frowned upon hearing shouting coming from another room.
She got up from her bed to go investigate. June was upset at what she found. Her mother and father were fighting. June covered her ears, for she hated loud noises very much, and ran out of the room.
June went into the kitchen and pulled out a piece of ham. She gobbled it up and smiled in content. June’s heart came to an immediate stop when she heard a fist being pounded on a table. Tears trickled down her cheeks as she continued to hear the fight her parents were having. -
June opened the backyard door and walked outside. She breathed in the fresh air and gave a big smile. She got onto her bike and started riding around the backyard.
After a few hours, she went back inside to find her mother. June’s mother had a big frown on her face, and her hands were placed on her hips. “Where have you been?” She snapped.
June bit her lip and quickly told her mother that she was outside. -
Her mother glared at her. “Did I give you permission?” She asked sharply.
“No.” June whispered.
“Then why did you go?”
“Because I was bored.”
Her mother glared at her. “Do you want a spanking?!” She yelled.
June stared at her wide-eyed. “No.” She said in a whisper.
(I’m just going to change my mothers name to M. ->-) -
You may be thinking, “Oh, that’s a normal punishment.” But no. M had always would spank her children whenever they did something wrong. Even if they broke a glass, the punishment would be a beating.
June also noticed that they would always fight before church. Before they entered the church, M would glare at her kids and whisper in heir ears, “If you don’t behave, I will slap you in front of everybody.”
June also noticed that her family would all wear fake smiles when they entered the church.
