Eska rolled to the left at the Barroth charged at her, getting in a quick shot at it before it pulled its head back up. Eska huffed and rolled behind a large boulder and began to reload her standard bone heavy bowgun as the Barroth pulled its head up and looked around for its attacker. With no luck, the Barroth roars in frustration. Taking seige of this opportunity, Eska runs out from behind the rock and sets up a pitfall trap, getting it completely set up not long after the Barroth stops roaring and catches sight of her. Not a problem. Eska says to herself as she bends over, slapping her butt at the Mud Dinosaur. "NYEEEEH! Come and get me, ya beady-eyed moron!" She called out, trying to bait the Barroth into falling straight into her previously mentioned pitfall trap. Like usual, the bait worked and the mighty mud monster charges right at her again, its foot stepping right on the trap and causing it to fall and collapse straight down. "Ha!" Gloated Eska, loading in Wyvern Shots into her gun. "Ready!" She called. pulling the trigger, a large explosion blasts from the tip of the gun and into the Barroths face, removing quite a bit of scales. "Again!" She yelled, pulling the trigger once more in succession, causing another explosion directly to the Barroths face. The mighty beast roared in pain as it finally managed to get free, using the time it had to try and escape. Eska smirked and loaded some level 3 cluser shots into her gun, took aim, and let loose. The Barroth stood no chance as the shots cut off one end of its tail and managed to pierce through to its heart, killing it. "Haha! Victory is mine!" She called outloud, folding her weapon in half and placing it on her back. Wasting no time, she picked up some scales she blasted off the monster and then walked up to its carcass, pulling out her carving knife. As soon as she got into touching range, she hopped up onto the corpse and began carving into the skin, cutting loose things such as skin, hard chunks of mud, chipped bones, and scales. "Today was a good day." She had said to herself, smiling as she reaped the spoils of the hunt as the sun began to fall across the now peaceful horizon.
Eska was finished up carving the last amount of materials she could carry before she noticed it was sundown, and soon the night predators would be upon her. "Tsk... I guess I got a bit carried away. Oh well, a hunters gotta do what a hunters gotta do." She chanted outloud, afterwards whistling a little tune loudly. With hardly any time spent, a cat popped up from the ground with a tiny little uniform and a small fishbone sword. "You carved all you need, nya? Okey dokey then, nya! Just leave your space meownegment problems to me~!" Said the cat, grabbing the sack of loot and dissapearing back into the hole it popped out from. Eska smirked and giggled a bit. "That never ceases to amuse me, even after 2 years or so of seeing it." Cutting the chit-chat, Eska begins walking back to Old haven, anxious to see the spoils she'll reap from todays hunt.
Two days after the hunt ended, Eska had arrived back at her small travel home, slept in her bed, and had a great night sleep. In the morning, the sun shined through the travel homes drapes and onto the hunters face. A yian kut-ku roared its bird-like cry as the sun rose up to the blue sky. Eska yawned as the combination of these two things awoke her from her slumber, stretching her arms and flopping slowly off of her bed and onto the wooden floor of her humble abode. "Mm..." Eska looked around and grabbed a jar of honey, a bundle of sunset herbs, and a small mashing bowl. She poured a small amount of honey into the bowl and a sunset herb, proceeding to mash them together with a small round rock. In no time at all, the two were mixed into a yellow-greenish substance. Next, Eska grabbed a small cup and poured the mixture in. As she rose the glass to the sky, she chanted a well known phrase throughout the hunter world. "Over the lips and under the tongue, look out belly, here it comes!" Eska suddenly chugged the concotion down until there was none left, slamming dow the cup onto the mixing table. "Ah, nothing like a nice refreshing energy drink to start the morning!" She said, newfound vigor pulsing through her body. You see, Eska had just made a Energy Drink, a well known and often used drink by hunters to rejuvinate stamina. But it also works as a coffee supplementary too, of course. And Eska was going to need lots of stamina if she is to fight monsters of any size, shape, and form.
Eska flexed a bit before heading outside and out into the open plaza of Old Haven. Now, you may be asking yourself; 'Um, doesnt she have to get dressed first?' Well, she is! All hunters go to bed with their armor on. Nobody quite knows why though... I assume it's to toughen them up to the point where they can sleep in the most uncomfortable places.
She headed over to the weapon smith next door and look at him, placing her left arl on the counter and her hand on her hip. "So, my carves came in right? Anything a HBG user like me can use em' for?" She asked, slightly eying a nice Lagiacrus gunlance set up for display purposes on the back wall. The weaponsmith grunted and nodded." "Yeah, I got the materials. But i'm afraid I can'ts makes nothin' goods for ya. But I can make you some new armor." He puts bluntly, making Eska frown in deep disappointment. "Naw, no thanks. Just keep the parts in storage till I need em later for something else. Thanks." Eska sighed and left, heading to the guildmarm. "Oh, hiya doodle! Whats up? I got a new quest today for ya! Feel free to check it out!" Eska perked up at the news of a new quest. She quickly took a few steps over to the quest board and looked around. When she saw the newest request, her eyes widened. "Dang... This'll be a tough one..." She said softly, thinking. The Gigginox, leech of the artic tundra zone... I'll need some help if im going to hunt this thing. She said.

"Oh, hiya!" Unexpectedly said a voice from behind. Eska turned around to see another hunter standing infront of her, his face gleaming with confidence and his gear radiating a aura that says 'I am totally new to this'. He wore basic Great Jaggi armor and weilded a sword and shield made of Velocidrome parts. Basic newbie gear, I can assure you. "What do ya want, kid?" Said Eska in a mocking voice. "Need me to beat up a monster who was too tough for ya?" She asked, sorting every few seconds or so as she chuckled. Obviously this hunter wasn't very smart either, as he didn't pick up on her obviously making fun of him. "Haha, no, but thanks for the concern lady! I just heard you were going to need help hunting a monster, so I thought that I, Tiderus, pronounced Ti-derus with emphasis on the Ti, would come to your rescue!" He said, that confident look of his still gleaming without a sign of it wearing off any time soon. Eska barely held back the urge to burst out laughing and wiped a tear of joy from her eye. "Listen, kid, I appreciate the thought, but this quest is a bit above your level. Why don't you try hunting, eh, I dunno... What about a Seltas? Or hey, I hear Wroggi parts make some pretty cool western wear!" She offered. Then out of no where, another unfamiliar voice emerged. A deep, scruffy voice at that. "Oi, my son will be fine a' long as i'm roun' em." A man about an inch taller than Eska emerged from behind a merchant stall. From the looks of him, it would seem that he was a hunter too. But much more experienced than Tiderus. He fashioned Low rank Deviljho armor and a Akantor Gunlance. Pretty Impressive weapon for someone of his age. "And who might you be?" Eska asked, intrigued as to who this old hunting aussie was. "Names Hazzik. Oi, based on that there brand imprinted on ya arm, i reckon yer from that one guild... Eh, wot's their names 'gin... Oi, you're part o' em brawlin' brachydios, roit?" He asked. "Yeah, thats right, well, I used to be, but as you probably know, we disbanded a few years ago." She said, only a slight amount of sorrow lingering in her voice at that moment. Meanwhile, Tiderus was quietly listening to the conversation around him. But as the two went on and conversed, he naturally grew bored. In light of this newfound boredom that has inhabited Tiderus's body, he walked over to the quest board nonchalantly and signed his name, Hazzik, and Eska on the quest for the Gigginox hunt. Of course, since Tiderus is of a pure (and gullible) heart, he didn't know what he was doing was bad. He just thought that he was helping move things along, is all.

Going back to the characters who weren't naive as hell, Hazzik and Eska were still chatting it up. "So why Barioth armor?" Asked Hazzik, looking at her curiously. Eska shrugged and replied casually. "No real reason. It was just a spare armor set i had lying around from before I joined the guild. But I guess the fact that it had a bit more armor than my other sets took place in the decision as well." Hazzik gave a 'That's understandable' nod and caught Tiderus wandering around. "Oi! Tiderus, get ya tuckus on back 'ere!" He shouted, Tiderus responding like a dog who had just been caught eating something the dog wasn't supposed to eat. You know that look. "Sorry Hazzik!" He said, slowly walking back. Eska sighed, looked back to the quest board, and took off the Gigginox quest without getting a good look on it. "Well, i'm off to hunt a Gigginox. I'd ask for your help, but..." She nudged her head over to Tiderus, who was now admiring a bone greatsword at a weapons stand as if it was made from the finest materials and monster parts. Hazzik sighed and nodded in understanding. "Oi, I get ya'. Go on, hunt yer Gigginox. We won't drag ya down." Eska sighed in relief while turning the quest flyer into the guild marm, looking back at Hazzik gratefully. She walked off with the Quest flyer now stamped, her mind too full of relief of not having to deal with that Newblit hunter to hear what the guild marm was trying to tell her.

It took a couple of hours to get packed and set up for the trip, but Eska managed to get it done in the end. As she loaded up on the transport boat, she folded the Quest flyer up into a small square and stuck it in one of her pockets. Just in case someone needs to see some proof that i am supposed to be here. She told herself. After the boat started sailing, Eska went into the lower quarters and flopped into a large hammock, probably built for two. She had already set her gun to the side of the wall and had decided that she might as well get some rest while on her way to the frozen tundra. I mean, it's not like anyone else is on this ship other than me, so I doubt anyone would want to get my attention or something like that. She thought, looking up at the ceiling. If one didn't know her better, they would assume she was in deep critical thought. Well, they would be as right as left. She was really just contemplating what she should make for dinner by the time she gets home at that moment. Dinner is an important meal of every good hunter. And so is lunch. And breakfast. And brunch. And linner, if you even consider that a thing.
By the time the boat had arrived at the icey area the Gigginox was located, Eska had already gotten a nice sleep and was prepared for the beast. She had her ammo loaded, had chugged down a hot drink after getting off the boat, and looked off into the distance with confidence. "I can do this!" She said to herself. "Prepare to be hunted, Giggino-" Before Eska could finish her sentence of self motivation, a peppy voice chirped in from a relatively close distance. "Oh, there you are! We couldn't find you at all while we were on the ship!" Eska froze. That voice... That merry-go-lucky feeling...
It was him.
The man-child.
The moronic myth.
The lousy legend.
"It's me, Tiderus!"
Eska shivered, and not because she was cold. "Juuuust great..." She mumbled silently. This hunt is already turning out to be a nightmare...
