Thread Topic: Tips on writing good quotes and poems?
-
I know there are a lot of people on here that can write great quotes and poems, would you like to share any tips?
-
- First, think of the topic of the poem, what is it about?
- Also, try using new, expressive words when writing, like instead of using 'sad' say 'melancholy' or 'despondent', you can use a thesaurus for new words, if you know thier meanings, it really brings taste to the poem!
- Try and make it rhyme, rhyming is the best thing about poems, you don't have to, but they came out greater if you do!
- Try not to make a certain thought too long, like don't write ten lines about a thought between multiple thoughts in your poem, give it a few lines and describe something that isn't too long and boring.
- Express how you feel with all you can, and use things that are alike to eachother like, 'you are like the rose,', 'eyes as blue as a summer sky' keep things alike in a poem! It brings good taste. :]
Those are all I can think of, if I have anymore, I'll tell you!
