INVISIBLE TEARS by: Shady's Angel

My countenance was shattered tonight
You stood oblivious, impassive, unconcerned
My pale skin, bright eyes, supple lips
Remained limpid, translucent
Ensconcing the secret beneath my mask

Inside your words struck hard, like Mother's blue veined hand
Blunt force trauma-splintering naivete-creating intricate designs
Silken webs suspended on brambles; adorned with evening dew
Providing fragile rosaries-globular-prismatic
Dangling their sacramental sanctuary beneath my mask

Bile soaked words; acidic, venomous, regurgitate into my chest
Rise as living dead into my throat; rush across desert dry tongue
Press hard against pride fortified ivory walls
Built devoid of cracks or gates
Built beneath my mask

Standing statuesque, I tremble violently within
Fear of disclosure flutters wildly
A timorous butterfly immured by a child's glass jar
You must never know, never sense, never see
That being beneath my mask

I begin my way away before cracks come inside out
My teeth a dam against a barrage of pointless words
Clear dry eyes search the depths of yours
To try to find:
Do you feel?
Do you see?
My invisible tears
Beneath my mask...
