  The feeling I get whenever you're nearby
  Can only be described as a warm, comforting embrace.
  It's miraculous that you have the power to
  Use just your words to erase tears on my face.
  
  Around you, I can't help but feel safe.
  I'm protected by your much taller shadow.
  I know I don't speak these words aloud,
  But through text, I'll make sure that you know.
  
  Even just your presence brings a smile
  To my previously distressed expression.
  I always count on your soothing voice
  When I'm ready to make a confession.
  
  The ardent beating of my heart
  Makes me admit my defeat.
  It stops for this moment and starts up
  Again only after our lips meet.
