His slightly curled tips brushed against her curls and marked face, tracing gentle circles and small patterns on her cheeks, occasionally taking a minute or two to touch the individual streaks on each side of her face, soft gaze focusing on the red lines, almost of utter interest.
"What are those markings for?" Nagisa asked, setting his hand down, leaning towards her.
Chrysanthemum could almost jump out of her skin as she felt her cheeks growing hot and slightly pink, which to her surprise, made him chuckle to himself.
"They're my streaks of necromancy. Every necromancer has one. My father has one, too." she explained quietly, almost bluntly at that, gripping the bedsheets.
Without saying a word, the young boy cupped his small hand under her chin to position it, placing a slow kiss on her cold lips, but she pushed him away.
Nagisa looked down, seeming rather disappointed.
Chrysanthemum grabbed his pale orange scarf firmly and pulled back in, kissing him harder. He placed his fingertips through her tied black hair, to which she returned the favor with his bright blue cut.
As soon as the two heard footsteps, they immediately looked at the door, both frozen in panic. Chrysanthemum suddenly got up from the bed and as soon as she did, Nagisa's eyes followed her, watching as she locked the door.
She looked back at him calmly, slowly making her way back to him and sat at the edge of the bed, he joining her and wrapping his arms around her from behind. -
I needed to write something about those two without going into utter detail since they are indeed children. So, have that.

"You're special, you know that, right?"
Nagisa took a moment to shift around in the grass so that his body faced her, gaze eventually flickering from the constellations he was once studying to challenge the stare of the girl of whom had spoken up.
"Am I now?" he lay on his side, looking up at her before propping up on his elbow to study her features more. Nagisa searched for emotion, yet found none.
"Yes." Chrysanthemum replied more emotionlessly, the secret flame burning in her chest growing larger as she felt the amusement of teasing him. Slowly, the flame crept up to her cheeks, making them hot and pink, but they weren't easily seen through the dim moonlight.
"Why?" he questioned.
"Because..." the girl trailed off, letting a low sigh slip out from her lips as she looked up at the sky, fingers wrapping around and gripping the small flowers sprouting from the grass beside her. "Do you really want me to tell you why?"
"Yes." Nagisa almost immediately said back, nearly as emotionless as she had said it the first time.
"I think you're special because you're not like anybody else I've ever met." Chrysanthemum explained. "You're a mega nerd. I think it's cute when you're anxious and it's even more cute when the horns on your head curl up when you're embarrassed. I love your maturity and I admire your capability to keep your composure in the scariest of situations. You work so hard to get what you deserve. There's so many good things about you and..." she stopped, looking down at him, "...and because I like you. You're so much like me. And we understand each other so we. I haven't met someone who can connect with me like you do." Chrysanthemum looked back up. "And that's why I think you're special."
Nagisa listened contently, at last feeling satisfaction for the first time in a while. He looked back up at the night sky, half-lidded eyes closing. Within a moment that seemed like a flash of lightning, Nagisa was nestled up in Chrysanthemum's lap.
"I think you're special too." is what he mumbled before stifling a yawn and drifting off to sleep. -
*And we understand each other so well.
-
Chrysanthemum gripped her fingers around the multi-colored book that separated her and the horned boy of which fingers were also holding the book. A few seconds passed before the boy tugged, and in response he received a counter tug. He gritted his teeth, and through his cleched jaw snaked out an angry hiss. "Give me the book."
"No." Chrysanthemum said smugly. "I need the book for my Advanced Chemistry class." She fluttered her eyelashes sweetly, then narrowed her eyes, growled at him and gave a tug harder than before.
"Well, I--" Nagisa heaved, pulling on the book. "--need the book for my Biology assignment."
The tugs began to get so aggressive that it got physical, each reaching out one of their hands tugging on the book to push, shove, smack or pull the hair of the other person.
Suddenly, both wrists pulling on the book accidentally pressed forward and the book dropped. Gravity made the two collide, their lips pressing together but the rest of their faces slamming against each other.
Then the two both fell, taking a minute to recover. Suddenly, Chrysanthemum wiped her bloody nose and stared at the book for a second or two. She then snatched the book before Nagisa could realize what was happening. When he did, he stood up and tried taking it from her.
Chrysanthemum jerked back and stood up on her own, then dashing away with the book in her arms.
"HEY!" Nagisa bolted after her. -
"Heeeey! Athena!"
A loud echo carried it's way across the inconceivably still island, trees rustling almost silently in the mild wind. The sky was painted with dark grey, the air cold, the ground blanketed with white frost. Not a person in sight, the cub had called out the name of a particularly large, particularly frightening shamo chicken, hoping to talk to her about something bothering her. The almost inaudible creaking of a small door slowly sliding open signified her presence. In about two seconds flat, the other female had dashed over. Most likely not due to the lioness' shrill calling, but by her routine. Every day at dawn, she would go out and exercise as a part of training. And coincidentally, the duo would happen to run into each other.
Athena hastily skidded to a halt when a golden figure blocked her path. She attempted to swivel around the creature but was stopped before she could.
"What the hell do you want?"
"Jeeez! Well, I don't think I like your attitude!" Kotoko huffed, puffing out her cheeks.
"You're the one to talk." The Blaziken replied, nonchalantly crossing her arms. She, too, let out a quick huff, minuscule flames dispersing from her nostrils as she did so. The tiny feline watched them in awe for a second, then shook her head and sighed.
"Shut up, b----! You look like... U-um..." Kotoko tried to find a good adjective that was clever enough to "burn" Athena- Despite her being a fire-type Pokemon... "Something to eat! Yeah! I could cook you up and eat you with ketchup! Yum yum, chicken tenders!" Okay, now she was just looking to pick a fight.
The brightly colored animal's arms immediately fell to her sides as she straightened and shot a harsh glare at the other. "Listen here, you little b----," She leaned in to stare straight into Kotoko's eyes. "You don't scare me. Not one bit. I could skin you if I really wanted to. I could wear you as a coat. You're damn lucky you're my clanmate. I-"
"Well, then! Let's see if you're scared of this!" -
