So for this contest you have to write a reader insert* shipping the reader with yourself. Length doesn't matter, although I'd suggest writing more than just a small paragraph if you're planning on winning.
*If you don't know what a reader insert is, it's basically a story that involves the reader interacting with the characters. For example:
Lucky glanced up and smiled slightly. "Hey [Your Name]!" You smiled back, running a hand through your [hair color] locks shyly.
Also some people use abbreviations to make things easier, for example:
[y/n] instead of [your name]
[e/c] instead of [eye color]
[f/c] instead of [favorite color] (this one's more to describe the reader's clothing usually)
Each submitted piece will be scored based on grammar, detail, and overall writing skill.
You can submit up to three different pieces. -
Me likey. Me will join.

Example because I was bored:
Such a Pain- Sick!Reader X Lucky
You rolled over in bed again, yet another harsh cough leaving your lips. You groaned, glancing at the clock. Three in the morning. This stupid cold had kept you awake all night, and no matter how much you tossed and turned, you couldn't seem to get comfortable. A few minutes later, you had found a position slightly more tolerable than the last. Just as your eyelids fell shut, you were jolted awake by the sound of [favorite song] blaring loudly. You cursed, groping around blindly in the dark for a moment before finding your phone. Squinting against the harsh light, you quickly moved the phone to your ear, not bothering to look at the caller ID. "Hey [y/n]!" The cheerful voice called. "Lucky, why the hell are you calling me at three in the morning?" You rasped, the question followed by a series of coughs so violent that you wondered whether your lungs were damaged. When she answered, her voice was much softer. "Geez, [y/n], you don't sound too good..." You scowled. "I've been better." You heard a sigh on the other end. "Hold on. You're home, right?" "Yeah..." She hesitated a moment before replying. "Don't go anywhere." You sighed. "Like I could..." But she had already hung up.
A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. You groaned again and dragged yourself out of bed and pulling the door of your apartment open. Lucky stood there, and stepped inside quickly. "You look awful." She stated bluntly. "Wow, thanks." You replied sarcastically, although you knew you didn't look great. You were only dressed in a pair of black sweatpants and a [f/c] t-shirt. Your [h/c] hair was sticking up at odd angles, and there were probably bags under your eyes from not sleeping. She rolled her eyes and set her bag on the table. She thrusted her finger at the couch. "Lay down." She ordered. You obeyed, but gave her a questioning look. "What are you gonna do?" She grinned. "Make soup! I'm assuming you haven't eaten anything." You shook your head. She reached into her bag and pulled out a copy of [favorite movie], popping it into your DVD player. You smiled slightly, your attention now on the movie. Seeing that you were distracted, Lucky slipped into the kitchen. A few minutes later, she reappeared and held out a bowl of steaming soup. You gratefully accepted it, hungrily slurping down a few spoonfuls. "It's good." You spoke quietly, your voice still a bit scratchy. Lucky gave a little grunt and blushed ever so slightly. "Microwaveable. It's from a can." She sat down next to you on the couch with a little huff. "You know I can't cook anything." A happy little sigh escaped your lips. You were feeling a little better after eating, and the lack of sleep was catching up to you. You smiled slightly and reached out, grabbing her hand. Her blush immediately deepened. "Thanks." You murmured, yawning. She looked away, but you could still see how red her face was. "You're such a pain, making me come and babysit you like this." She was complaining, but you could hear a hint of affection in her voice. Just as you began to drift off, she leaned her face closer to yours. "Such a pain," She repeated quietly, and for the briefest moment, her lips were on yours. But then she was gone, grabbing her bag and rushing out the door. Too tired to go after her, you simply lay there, a soft smile on your face as you fell asleep. Maybe being sick wasn't so bad. -
I want to be a part of it, too.
-
It's not part of it, SG, you're the reader. You're the sick character.
Unless you meant that you wanted to be part of the contest, in that case good luck! -
Oh, no, I'm not a good story writer. :(
-
Could I?
-
Sure, anyone's welcome to join~
