Dark wandered aimlessly through the forest, her eyes wide and awed. She had been dared by Anime and Br0wnies to go find the mysterious house that was in the center of the creepy forest. It was told that you could find people living in the huge mansion- duplicates of them, anyways. And they'd tell you that person's past.
She had tripped over roots, scraped her hands, and had bug bites all over arms. She struggled through the underbrush, trying hard not to start crying. Maybe they wanted her to get lost, or trip and die. She didn't want to die.
As Dark looked up, an old house caught her eye. She couldn't tell what color it was. It was brown, then it was black, and then it was white, or some other color. She ran towards it. Could it be.. It was the mansion! So it DID exist. As she reached the door, she found a warning on the door.
If you dare to enter, you will find yourself staring at your double who plans to tell your story. You will learn dark secrets that not a single person wants known. Beware...
Her nose twitched as she stared at a line that was at the bottom of the note. She stared harder. Suddenly, her name appeared on the line. Dark, have fun. Shuddering, she threw the door open with her shoulder. The first thing she saw was a sign in sheet a few feet away. Past that was a long hall. She entered, and the door slammed shut behind her.
As she wrote her name into the sign in sheet, the first door creaked open a bit. She heard laughter from the room. Who was the person in Room 1? Better find out, huh? -
Chapter One
Br0wnieBunny
WARNING: Contains slight gore.
Dark crept over to the door, peering in. There was Br0wnieBunny, sitting on the floor, giggling her butt off about something. In her hand were dolls that appeared to be based off of some anime thing. She stepped into the room, frowning.
"There there, Gundam. Your hamsters will live on with your spirit.. Too bad you died." The giggling girl plucked the doll's head off, setting it in the center of some realistic looking hamsters. As she did this, her eyes trailed up to see the redhead standing there. "Oh! Another visitor! Another person to share a story with!" She jumped up with delight, a smile on her face. "Welcome to the Memory Mansion, Mistress Dark. I'll be the first story teller." She shoved herself up with her hands, running over to Dark.
"Each time you want to hear a story, you'll need to hold out your right hand. You'll be put to sleep. Don't worry, we won't kill you. Well, some of us won't. You can worry about the malicious memories later. You have a guide waiting for you outside of your room, anyways. She'll take care of you. You'll only need to give her one thing in the end~" Br0wnieBunny stopped to stroke her hair. "You'll wake up after each story's over. Have fun, Mistress!"
She impatiently held out her left palm. Dark shakily put her right hand onto the other's hand. At first, nothing happened. But after that, Dark began to grow tired. She let out a noise before falling backwards and slamming onto the ground, asleep.
In a place that many people lived, there was a Prince. The Prince was lonely and needed a princess. However, he needed someone who would be truthful to him. A princess that wouldn't lie when she was uncomfortable. So, he decided that he'd invite all of the women in his kingdom to participate in a single trial.
The Prince and his mother prepared a bed that was twenty feet high. The Prince himself made the ladder that was to be on top. Underneath all of these was a single pea.
Several maidens slept upon the bed. Each one said, "I slept peacefully!" to the Prince. Not a single of of them really slept peacefully. They either had a problem with the height or they felt the pea, however, they refused to tell him because they thought he didn't want a wife that was going to complain about it.
Finally, a young girl came to represent her family. She was the only one who wasn't married off. Her name was Madison. When the Prince saw her, he thought that she was an angel- a slightly dirty angel, that is. She was the last person to sleep on those mattresses. All night, she tossed and turned, unable to get any sleep.
In the morning, she climbed down the ladder. The Prince asked her if she had a good night's sleep. She responded, "It was horrible! There was something in the center of my back, and I felt like I'd fall and die at any minute! I prefer hay.."
The Prince laughed, a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry for making you hurt, dear. You're the one that I've been looking for. Will you marry me?" Madison scowled, shoving her hand away. "I don't want to be yours. I have a family." "But, Madison-" "I SAID NO!" The enraged peasant slammed the Prince's head into a wall. She did it several times until his face was deformed and didn't look right at all.
Madison never left a trace when she returned home. When they asked her about what had happened, she said, "He asked me a question and I felt uncomfortable."
Dark awoke with a slight headache. When she stood up, Br0wnieBunny was smiling down at her. "Wasn't I a loyal princess?" She beamed, tilting her head. "You better go get that guide~!" -
Room Two
TheColdestSun
WARNING: Contains semi-gore, hinted nudity, and death.
Dark stood, staring at the girl she'd now forever know as Madison. The more she thought about it, the more it scared her that she could get her own head bashed into a wall. She hurried out of the room and found her face in a pair of boobs.
The girl supporting them looked mischievous- Happy, but mischievous. She patted Dark's head. "It's lovely to meet you, Mistress Dark. Oh, how I hate formalities.. Your name will now be Darkness. YOU HEAR THAT, SCUMBAGS? YOU'RE NOT TO CALL HER MISTRESS. OR I'LL SHOOT YOU IN THE HEART."
Dark blinked several times as she pulled away from the woman. The girl waved her fingers to reveal unbelievably sharp claws. She gulped, staring at them.
"Darkness, I'm your bodyguard. I'm known as TheColdestSun to the dumbasses around here, but you need to call me Maru. We're going to become best friends during your stay here, so I hope you'll cry when you have to leave. You're going to wanna hear my story, aren't you? We need to go to my room to make it happen." The girl grabbed Dark's wrist, dragging her to the room with a bloody '2' on the front.
Maru jerked Dark's right hand over, making sure that her palm was facing up. She smiled sweetly and said, "Sweet dreams, Darkness." She put her hand over the other girl's. Once again, Dark got tired and passed out. Maru caught her just before she hit the floor.
There once was a kind man who liked to write songs and poems and myths and tales. He liked to sit by the fire and sing these songs and poems and myths and tales. One thing that he found that amused him most was helping other people that weren't as fortunate as him.
One day, a terrible storm broke out. The winds from the storm knocked trees down. The rain made animals drown in their homes buried deep underneath the ground. It was such a terrible storm, and anyone or anything outside would surely perish from the cold weather.
The kind man was much more fortunate than anything outside. He was content beside his fire, writing his songs and poems and myths and tales. In his stove was a fat hen, waiting to be cooked all the way through. Beside it was a few bottles of wine and a plate.
As the storm got worse, he noticed that he heard an odd noise coming from outside of his house. He furrowed his brow. "Why, what a peculiar noise. I've never heard such a thing. What might be out in the cold?" The man stood from his spot on the floor, walking over to the door. He opened it.
On the wet ground was a little black kitten. Its fur was plastered to its body, its eyes clouded over. It let out a pathetic mew. The kind man picked it up and carried it into his house, exclaiming, "Why you poor little thing! You must have been waiting for me all of this time, and I didn't do a thing!" He set it down beside the fire, putting a large towel over it. "Wait here, I'll go get you some milk. Don't you go dying on me."
The kind man took a bowl out of his cupboard and set it down on the counter. He grabbed a glass of milk from the far end of the counter and poured it into the bowl. From there, he carried the bowl of milk to the fire.
The sweet little cat he saw was nowhere to be found. In its place was a teenage girl that had dark red hair. She had nothing on other than the towel that he had given the cat. The kind man was bewildered. "Where is the cat?" He asked. The girl said naught a word, just stared at the fire. He noticed that her eyes and hair were dazzling. She looked like an angel.
"I am the cat, kind sir. Your kindness released the curse from me. I am in your debt. However, I am in need of clothing. Do you have a long shirt you could spare?" She looked over at him, an embarrassed smile on her face. The kind man went into his bedroom, retrieving a dress and a pair of underwear. "My wife left these behind. They seem to be able to fit you. He turned away as she changed into it.
She yawned, looking at him. The kind man was still staring at her. "I need just one more thing. I need your heart, you see, so I can easily change back from being a cat and a human. Don't worry, I'll properly bury your body." He laughed, turning his back to her. "You make such fine jokes, miss-" He was cut off as a pair of claws were shoved in the area around his heart. She ripped it out from behind, smiling. "Thank you, kind sir. I think I've repaid your debt, I saw you peeking. What a naughty sir you are."
Dark woke up on Maru's bed. She was grinning widely at her. "Did you like it? Now you know that I'm not like you. I'm what you might call a cat demon. That guy was close to death anyways- he never left that boring house." -
Room Three
Appayipyip42
WARNING: Contains death.
The females stared hard at each other for a moment before Maru spoke up. "We have so many people to go through, yet so little time. Perhaps we should go on, Darkness!" She grabbed Dark's hand and dragged her out of the room back into the hall.
When Dark finally got back on her feet, she pulled her hand away from her guide. "I think I can walk on my own.. Thanks for the offer." Maru looked slightly offended, but dissed the matter. "This next girl likes to ramble, so don't think you'll get straight to the story, okay?" She chirped. Dark sighed, muttering, "This is going to be one hell of a trip, huh?"
As Dark was dragged into the third room, she started to pay close attention to the wall. On every single wall, little papers were pinned. They looked like essays. As she got close to one, she realized they weren't essays but motivational notes. At least, they could be called that.. 'Don't be absurd. Be a tritanope.' 'COMMUNISTS FOR THE WORLD!' 'Talk to everyone, not just yourself, because then you'll be one crazy communist.' They made no sense to her at all.
When she looked away from the walls, Maru was by the door, her eyes locked on someone in the corner of the room. Dark looked in the same direction and saw that a teenager was there, sketching silently in what appeared to be a notebook. Without looking up, the girl said, "I'm number three, Appayipyip42. Of course, you don't need to call me that. Some call me Appa. I honestly don't care. It is a long name." She gestured with her hand for Dark to sit down.
"My story is probably the dumbest of them all. What's the face for? You thought it was going to be cheesy? How mean of you. For all you know it's the best and I'm lying to you. Are you one of those freaks who judges books by their covers?" Appa said this all without looking up. "I swear.. If you are, this won't be pretty for you. Ahem. Anyways, my story will be about politics- Again with the face? Seriously, what's wrong with you? Gosh! I was joking. Or was I? Well, you probably want to find out, so get your majestic hand over here."
Dark slowly scooted over to her. Maru looked a bit tense, her eyes locked on them both. Dark, however, had her back to her guide and didn't notice. She held out her right hand. Appa forcefully slapped her hand onto hers, making her hand hurt just as bad as her head as she collapsed yet again.
Once upon a time, there was a king who wanted to figure out how to get rid of all of the idiots in his country. He didn't want to bother with the crippled, orphans, or the poor. He wanted money, and he wanted the richest people alive to obtain the large amounts.
A girl overheard about his scheme and wanted to prevent it from happening. She herself had a slight problem in her eyes- some colors didn't look right at all. She knew that the people around her knew. She- along with her family- would probably be executed. It would be all because of her eye problem. Oh, the joy! It 'twas a stupid reason to be put to death, but they all had to listen to the king.
However, this girl was clever. She knew that if the kind were to allow her into his kingdom, she'd be able to make him think twice. So she gave herself a code name- Appa- and took her first bath. She cleaned herself up and went to the castle to pose as a beautiful maid. She was kind to everyone, and so she became known as the "Angel Who Cleans".
The king wondered how some boring old maid could be called an angel. Why, maids were usually normal, plain, nothing but tools! So he stopped by the maids' quarters to take a look. It 'twas there that he found the beautiful maid, scrubbing at the floor, trying her hardest to clean. He instantly fell in love with her.
It was all according to her plan, of course!
As the days went by, Appa was invited to his royal banquets and was dressed up in the prettiest of dresses. She was paid each day without having to do much work. The king made her fit to be a queen- and had the existing queen kicked out.
One night, when he had been admiring her beauty from behind, he asked her why she looked down. "Whatever is it, my beautiful maid? You have all that you can have given to you. Most importantly, you have my heart. Has another male equal to me thrown himself upon you?"
Appa kept a smirk from her angelic face as she turned to him. She had played this scene many times in her head. She had wide doe eyes. "No, my king, my beloved. 'Tis not that that troubles me. My eyes do." "What is wrong with your beautiful eyes?" "I cannot see some colors, my king. My eyes make me crippled. They make me punishable. I'm sorry I've hid this so long from you, my king." And she had indeed hidden this from him for a year and three hundred days.
"Why, that is not a problem at all! I love my dear crippled people, therefore I love everyone who is crippled! You need naught be worried," He bellowed. "Why would you think that I did not enjoy your eyes?" She turned away, grabbing a spoon and a knife. She hid the knife well as she said, "Is that so, my king? Was it not only a year and many nights ago that you wanted people like me to be put to death? Was it not your wish to be rid of all crippled? Why are you lying, my beloved?"
Appa turned to him, the spoon glinting in the light. The king furrowed his brow. "What's that for, my dear?" She inched over to him, smiling. "Sinners who lie don't need their eyes. You're a sinner, you've lied, so.. I don't think you need your eyes. What color are they, anyways? Green?" She pinned him down and gauged out his eyes with the spoon. She hummed as he screamed and withered in pain. When she pulled out the knife, she said, "Sinners who cry need to say bye bye." She stabbed him twice in the heart- one for each sin. She dragged him into the room full of his gold and left his body to rot within the riches untold.
When Dark woke up, a spoon was right beside her left eye. She let out a terrified squeal and scooted far away from Appa. Maru hadn't been paying close attention, but at Dark's scream, she ran to her aid and picked her up. "Damn communists and their spoons!" -
