I intentionally disconnect myself from my characters so I don't feel bad when bad things need to happen to them, or I need to kill one off for whatever reason.
I view them more as strangers to which the plot happens.
The only real character I can say I actually care for is Vivian, and that's because I need to get into her head a lot more often than anyone else. -
I have a connection to my ocs as well, but I would hesitate to do bad things to them or make em in to bad people. But chances are I won't kill any of them off. Unless it's a character I made that was destined to die in the story.
