Nicholas0 Newbiewow ilm that was good...
ok gimme tips on how to not make your story long winded...
i kinda do that often and it gets boring...
but i have an idea for a novel so im gunna have another go.. -
I can answer this one...
MAKE IT SHORT AND SWEET -
Wow! That's real suspenseful! I like it. What happens?! I'm a writer myself, working on a couple different things.
-
What, my novel? It's about a boy named Jerry, his parents died when he was seven and his brother Freddie whom was two at the time was with him, (Freddie isn't in most of the book) So his uncle adopts him.
8 years later...
In Jerry's neighborhood, there have been many murders, including the death of Mr. Terry's six year old girl, and someone's dog and so on...
Jerry's now fifteen, and life's the same, but then one day he goes outside on a long and dark December day, he waites for the school bus when he finds that his neighbor (Mr. Terry) is spying on him, later on he comes out and tells Jerry that he missed the bus and that he'll take him, so he gets permission from his uncle and then Mr. Terry takes him to school, but when Jerry gets out of the car, he decides to turn round, the car hits him and he falls and breaks his arm, but he didn't see Mr. Terry so he couldn't tell if it was on purpose or by mistake, Mr. Terry claimed that he put his foot on the pedal withought changing gear, but they find that stupid and less likely to happen.
Then Jerry has that dream. (Scroll up)
So Jerry goes to the hospital, then arguments go on with Jerry's Uncle Derek and Mr. Terry, and then it goes quiet, then one day Jerry walks by Mr. Goodwell's house, an old man that's always grumpy, and accidentally steps on his lawn, so the old guy gets mad and throws his walking stick at him and it hits his head, so he tells his uncle and he goes and argues with the old guy, and he says: "One day I'm gonna chop your body to pieces in your own bed"
And one day, that happens.
Of course, Jerry doesn't remember his uncle saying that line 'till later, he thinks Mr. Terry did it.
And Mr. Terry starts being mean to Jerry and hurting him and so on, one day, he decides to invite Jerry to his house, for some bizarre reason, his uncle let him go, but Jerry didn't want to go, but Mr. Terry kept insisting so he just had to go.
And he tells him the story about his 6 year old girl, and Jerry gets freaked out and runs away.
A few days later, a girl that sat next to Jerry in class died, but she lived a mile away from him, but the police came to ask Mr. Terry 'cause apparently he knew a lot about her, and was best friends with her dad, so everyone thinks it's him.
Jerry then has a dream that he's in a room on a boat, and finds that no one is on with him, but there's lots of blood all over the floor and on the chairs, and finds knives and guns everywhere, and looks in to the mirror, and sees Mr. Terry behind him, he quickly grabs Jerrys throat and tries to choke him when Jerry wakes up.
And then, one day, the same thing happens to Jerry, he waites for the bus not knowing it already left withought him, and Mr. Terry offers, of course Jerry refuses and says his uncle will take him from now on.
But Mr. Terry thenn quickly grabs Jerry and puts his hand on his mouth and pushes him in to the car and locks the door, and forcfully takes him to school, except he isn't taking him to school, he takes him to an old house that doesn't have anyone living in it.
Apparently, Mr. Terry blames Jerry's uncle for the death of his 6 year old daughter, he thinks Jerry's uncle did it, but he had no proof so he couldn't press charges against him, so he's getting back at him by hurting Jerry.
But Mr. Terry was actually trying to save Jerry.
Jerry had found a book under his uncle's pillow, it was a book filled with people's pictures, and dates, dates of when he'll kill this person and that, he saw Mr. Terry's daughter, and the newest person that was to be killed was Jerry, of course his uncle finds out and Jerry runs, but his uncle catches him and kills him.
THE END
It's called "The Bones" -
And one of the things that happened in Jerry's neighborhood was that a guy named Mr. Nicholson had died, and Jerry's uncle was telling him about it, and also, I changed Jerry's brother's name from Joey to Freddie.
You know, I have a shortened version of The Bones in my write your short stories here thread, you can read it there if you want, I've got LOADS of stories, about 11, or twelve, I think. -
Yep, on page 9.
Sorry, LOL! I probably bored you, but I didn't know how to give you a summary 'cause lots of things happen... -
WOW THAT'S A GREAT IDEA FOR A NOVEL BUT I'M NOT THE TYPE THAT LIKES TO READ A LOT MAYBE SOMETIMES LOL
-
Thanks anyways.

Ack, sorry for not posting here lately. I'll answer any questions thee were in a bit.

@Nicholas0
It's important to remember that every scene in a story should advance the plot somehow. Scenes that don't add depth to characters or affect later events have no business being in the story. Sometimes an outline can help with this. Cut out pieces where all the characters do is chat about nothing of consequence. Also, keep descriptions concise. -
Oh, and if anyone wants criticism or advice on a piece of writing, feel free to post it here! However, I have nothing useful to say about poetry. ^_^;

What is your opinion on erotic novels?
-
Do you get boners from reading them?
-
No. That would be biologically impossible, as I am a female.
