pokemon: the deleted version.
it was a normal day for me. i hanged out at school, didn't do homework, got in trouble with my annoying art teacher, the usual.when i got home, i put up my stuff and grabbed a 20$ bill. today was the release of pokemon emerald, and i couldn't wait to get it. on first day, they gave discounts on pokemon games, which really pumped me up. i went to the game store, and gave the store clerk the 20$. he offered me a beta version of the game, which i excitedly accepted. who wouldn't want a discounted game with an EXTRA discount? anyhow, i went home and opened the game. the title was scratched off, and the game wasn't the expected green. instead, it was a purple and blue-black mix. i just supposed the game was supposed to be a bit different, seeing as it was the beta version. i put the game in my console, and begin playing. the opening screen was like usual, but i noticed that the pupils in the pokemons eyes were gone, leaving the eyes plain white. i shrugged it off, seeing that it was a glitch in the game and didn't affect the game play. the start screen showed a absol instead of a rayquaza. the absols eyes were pupil-less just like the others. also, i noticed that the game title didn't say emerald, but instead:

i stare at the game for about 5 minutes, thinking about the title. when i stop thinking, i press start. then, the usual sapphire and ruby music plays, calming me down a bit. i see birch, the pokemon professor. his pupils were there, also. the normal commercial into was there, in addition to the fact that everything else seemed to be in tact. then, came character sex selection came. the only option was: "???" which didn't even give a picture of who i was. i pressed A, continuing on to naming him. i also couldn't name him, seeing as when the typing screen came, the name, "absol" was there. when i tried to delete the name, it wouldn't do anything. when trying to add on to the name, a absols cry came in addition to the fact the selected letter wouldn't show up. i just got mad and continued. then, the game showed me in the moving van, but instead, i was a absol sprite instead of the usual two boy or girl selectables. there was no background music and no sound effects. finally, i'm allowed to move. when i enter outside, the lavender town music plays. not the usual lavender town music, but instead the one removed from the games due to severe headaches. im suddenly scared because of my previously unmentioned health issues.

I just continue to play the game and try to block out the music. When I'm done moving into the house, I walk back downstairs and see a sprite of ghost, a Pokemon from the creepy black game. I am scared senseless, knowing as creepy black was just supposed to be a creepy pasta. I turn the game off, but it stays there with the music playing. Then, the screen goes to a purple black as a box appears with the sentence:
You can't get away that easily...
Then the game returns to normal, with the normal game music playing and a boy sprite as my character. I continue playing until I beat the elite four, not mentioning the rest of what happened afterwards since it wasn't anything important. But the second the credits end, my console screen goes black, and a absol cry could be heart. Then, a absol Pokemon could be seen, with pupil-less eyes. It had tears coming down its eyes, before it disappears and a box comes up saying:
How could you leave me? I trusted you...
Then, the screen shows my characters mom, professor birch, and all the other main characters. But.... They were covered with blood, stabbed and cut open, black eyes with red pupils. Then the ghost Pokemon appears again and a box under the crowd says:
You left us behind, and we will come back.
Then, they all disappear except for the ghost. Then, one more box appears saying:
Congrats. You beat the game. You won against all the gym leaders, killing each ones soul with each victory. You have completed the pokedex, capturing every Pokemon so they cannot escape, and rot inside your heaven forbidden poke balls. And now, it's your turn to rot, to have your soul picked at and nipped at until you can't take it, until your will cannot continue and you fall, sobbing your last tears before you die...
Then, I am forced into a battle with ghost. I tried turning the console off, but it won't budge. I lose by breath and cant breath. The game suddenly turns the battle music into a scratchy voice, saying: "how does death sound to you?" Using my last bit of air, I scream. Long story short, I was heard by mom and sent to the hospital, where the doctors said that I was just fine and that they didn't know what was wrong. Since then, I never played Pokemon again, and I threw the game away. But I can never forget the words the game said to me:
"How does death sound to you" -
