Chapter 1 (I hope you like it!)
"Raven! Wake up!" I hear a voice say, then feel someone shaking my shoulder. I slowly blink open my eyes, and see my twin, Isaac, standing over me. "It's almost Sun up! We need to get going if we want Uncle Henry to give us a ride to the field! Get up!" I sit up slowly, then brush straw off of my shirt. "I'm coming!" I say, then I stand up. Isaac rushes outside, not wanting to be late. I stumble out of the house, and see Uncle Henry sitting up in the front of his wagon with my older brother, Robin, sitting by him. Out of the corner of my eye I see a flash of black hair rush into the back of the wagon, which means Isaac in already in. "Come on, Raven!" Calls Uncle Henry. I rush towards the wagon, my black hair streaming behind me as I run. I jump into the back, near the edge of the wagon. "What kept ya, Raven?" I stiffin, then quickly say, "N-Nothing, Uncle. I just didn't sleep well, that's all." Henry looks back at me, then looks away. The wagon starts to move, then I look out the back of the wagon, remembering the dream. That horrible creature, those scales, that castle. Forget it, I think, Forget the monster. A Voice wakes me from my thoughts. "Hey, Have you kids heard about that monster.?" "M-m-monster?" asks Isaac, fear showing in his eyes. Robin turns back to look at him, the rolls his eyes. "Everyone knows that there in no such thing as a monster. They're just fairy tails that are made to keep kids where they're supposed to be." Robin never did believe in the stories about fairies, or pixies, or Spirits. When they'd be mentioned, he just laugh and come up with some way to make other people believe that there was no such thing. "There are no Fairies, only those glow bugs that come around when it gets warmer." He'd say, or "Dragons aren't real! The stories started when a kid threw a lizard into the air and scared another kid." He always had something to say that made most think that the creatures were real. "Well," Uncle Henry replied, "A lot of folks say that their kids saw something flying away from the fields when they arrived to tend to them. Who knows, It could be real, it could be fake. But," he says quickly, "A few kids I met say they say it, and it looked like a dragon!" -
(the last say is supposed to be saw)

(Chapter 1 continued)
A Dragon! Isaac said, his icy blue eyes showing surprise. A real Dragon!
Isaac had always loved the stories about Dragons. He loved to hear about how, long ago, The Dragons had a war, or about how they flew, or how they used to let some people ride them. But, his favorite story of all was, by far, the story of the Dragon War. It was about 2 sides of dragons, the good side and the evil side. The Dragons had lived together for millennia, but that soon changed. Humans came from the north, and started settling in the south, where the dragons lived. Some dragons wanted to live with the humans peacefully. Some wanted to make the humans their Slaves. The Dragons who wanted to live with the humans waged war with the others because the other dragons started to attack the humans. The War was a long and bloody one, but eventually the Good dragons prevailed against the evil ones, and the Evil ones were banished from this land, and, for a bit, there were no more wars.
Are you sure it was a dragon? It could have been something else or it could be real! Chirps Isaac happily, thinking about maybe seeing a dragon. What do you think, Raven?
I reply slowly, thinking about my dream again. It could be real, it could be fake.
Isaacs face shows his disappointment. I almost always sided with him in an argument.
See, Isaac. Even your own twin doubts the story. Some kid probably thought itd be funny to scare the other kids with that story, then told other kids. Its happened before. Says Robin with a smug grin on his face.
