I want to use this thread as a way to update any information i have that i learn about gardening food and herbs!
If anyone has any cool or exciting information to share about their own gardens i would love to hear about it.
I don't have many friends who garden to be honest except family. This year I plan on having an even bigger garden than last year. I'm hoping it goes as or better than I expect
Some of my favorite home grown vegetables/fruits include strawberries, tomatoes, and hot peppers. -
The list of everything I want to grow this year:
bed #1
yellow onions
dwarf thai chili peppers
carrots
marigolds (for disease prevention)
bed #2
spinach
romaine lettuce
curly endive lettuce (if available)
oak leaf lettuce (if available)
snap peas
green onion
beets
and one cherry tomato plant separate in its own pot :3
i really want this so i'm gonna get it done no matter what. all i need is enough money :O
I have to have a second raised bed delivered to me by May 18th because that's the time for planting things outdoors where I live. -
OKAY CHANGE OF PLANS cuz i'm kinda a broke b
I think I'll just do this:
bed #1:
yellow onions
warrior bunching onions
dwarf thai chili peppers
carrots
no marigolds :( lmao or maybe i will idk it depends on how much room i have in my little 4x4 bed
this makes me feel less stressed because i just don't have enough money this year to do a second bed. next year for sure though! -
i can still do potatoes in potato grow bags and i can do my cherry tomato plant as usual as well.
that's plenty of food i think! lol -
One thing about growing food from a garden is that it's highly rewarding once harvest time comes.

I hope they ALL come up. It's only been a few days so I need to be patient but I'm worried it's not been sunshiney enough

No i was wrong
I just looked and almost all of them are coming up lol that's good -
I'll post pictures of my garden once they are outside and it's all nice out there and put together

the news on my garden is that i have my green onions growing but i'll have to sow my peppers directly after the last frost date cuz they didn't come up (wasn't warm enough/light enough)

i'm too depressed and busy to do it, or so i tell myself
why waste the money and energy TT___TT
but i still wanna keep this thread going so i'll use it to nerd out over gardening tips and facts and stuff in preparation for a new year -
my dwarf thai chili pepper plants are coming up!
i'm excited to actually have chili peppers on them. I need to transfer one of them to a big pot -
my thai chilis are the only thing i'll be getting this year as far as gardening stuff goes but i'm happy about it cuz i freaking love spicy food and they'll be perfect to use in cooking
