However, to answer your question(s).
Since the past few elections, it's been a pretty simple process. Users list out candidate they think would be good as a moderator and explain that person's qualities. Current moderators also assess who they think fit the job. From the giant list, GTQ Guy picks those he thinks are fit and gives them moderation powers. All elections were held in this forum, or Feedback and Updates.
There are no set requirements, but there are unspoken ones. First of all, moderators have to have been active on this site for at least two years. They must have knowledge about the forums and be a mostly unbiased person. You HAVE TO BE ACTIVE! Also, you should be a generally good person. And, no, that doesn't mean you pretend to be nice, unbiased, and loyal to the site just to become a moderator. We, along with GTQ Guy, watch most users day to day. If you change your actions just to become a moderator, that's unfair and it doesn't show us who you really are. -
