Thread Topic: My freedom of speech has been VIOLATED.
-
VIOLETTED
-
Note to anyone who looks at this thread: 1714 is referring to the deletion of posts harassing a nonbinary individual for their gender identity.
-
You purposely misgendered me, something that often triggers panic attacks, just so that you could have some sick satisfaction and so you could be a "troll". That isn't freedom of speech. That's harrassment.
-
Gender and sex are not the same thing, therefore your gender doesn't have to be the same as what your genitalia is. -
Indeed it isn't the same thing
I don't understand why you even watch the amazing atheist?
You try to act like him in every other way but he doesn't midge see people or act as annoying as you do. I actually respect him but this s--- you're doing isn't what a drunken peasants fan would be doing
Since well
They want they're audience to not be retarded -
ShidoKusubana Newbie^ Because I have the rights to watch him?
And some of their audience is "retarded".
And I mostly make fun of what he says sometimes. -
Oh, so that Shido fan account is really Anime!!! Oh okay
-
Those who harass like to defend themselves by claiming "free speech" and then get mad when they're called an a--hole.
It's just free speech
a--hole -
Freedom of speech means you can't be prosecuted for what you say.
Also shido, fhe amazing atheist has done some really s---ty harassment of people before, do your research. -
LOL that isn't exactly what my point was so I dont really care
-
Umm...
You do know that the whole 'Gender and Sex are separate things' was an idea put forth by a pedophile who caused his test subjects to kill themselves after years of sexual abuse, and that his ideas were immediately discredited by the larger scientific body, right? Due to the fact that they proved the OPPOSITE of what he was saying?
(
Also, you realize your source is referring to grammatical gender? Languages such as German and Latin use gender to differentiate between different words, it has nothing to do with actual people. For example, the three gender markers that mean the (singular) in German are der (masculine), die (feminine), and das (neuter). To apply this to an example, German cutlery would go der Lffel (the spoon), die Gabel (the fork), and das Messer (the knife).
Gender in language is simply used as a way to describe similar objects.
Also, I don't understand how it's possible to be non-binary, can someone explain that to me? Preferably as unbiased-ly as possible? -
Refer to first post for this pic XD
Ok, that was kinda mean -
IHLAOY, this really isn't the time to defend someone, especially with something like this. To misgender a trans person is incredibly disrespectful, regardless of what you personally believe in terms of sex/gender.
Whether you personally agree with it or not, the concept of third gender has spanned across multiple cultures and existed for, well... this won't sound credible, but the concept has existed for a really, really long time. Recently, India recognized third gender people, or hijras.
I guess I'm biased, but here you go. As for being nonbinary, it's kind of... hard to explain? With the concept of gender dysphoria (which of course is different for everyone), there's just this feeling of... things being sort of not right. I have a lot of dysphoria regarding my breasts and, as for genitalia? Just, no. Again, it's really hard to explain, but I swear I've been experiencing it my entire life. Which could be why. Until I found out that nonbinary was a thing, I felt extremely out of place. I'm still getting used to it, but I feel way more comfortable than I did before.
Sorry if I'm not very coherent right now. -
Wow, slow down there, I'm not misgendering anyone. I'm just pointing out that sex and gender are widely accepted to be the same thing. What gender you are is irrelevant.
That said, what third gender are we talking about? Neuter? Or is it non binary? I'm a bit confused here. I studied history and I didn't see any evidence for a third gender.
So you're not actually genderless, you just feel like you are? What toilet do you use?
It's fine, it must be late where ever you are. -
I didn't mean you were. AP was, and it felt like you were defending her.
The understanding of it seems to vary, but it's generally accepted that the people who fit within that category believe themselves to be in between or completely separate from the binary genders.
Also, what you studied, unless it was primarily to do with gender studies, probably wouldn't go over something like that. I'm not trying to discredit your education, but "history" is a very broad topic, you'd probably have to take a specific course.
Isn't that enough? Gender dysphoria is an actual illness, and while I'm not saying that I have it to the severity of others, I definitely feel like it's there for me. Again, it's tough to explain, because I've felt this way as long as I can remember. I just have a word for it now. I mean, aside from the fact that you were (likely) raised as it due to biology, at what point did you realize that you were distinctly your gender? (I'm sorry, have you ever mentioned it? I don't know what it is.)
I use women's restrooms because I'm not one of the lucky ones that look as androgynous as possible, and because in certain situations, they have menstrual products.Though my nonbinary friends will agree when I say that the sign actually means that it's a superhero bathroom, and that the other one is for normal civilians. Since there's a cape on the sign, I mean.
Though I live in an area where, because of things like these, a lot of restrooms are gender neutral.
