Long-time GTQ users will remember:
There was a time when specific rules were added (red box at bottom), because people were posting inappropriate stuff.
Then there was a time when all images in posts were disabled because people were posting inappropriate stuff.
Another time, the offensive link got added, because people were posting inappropriate stuff.
Now mods have been added, why? Because people continue posting inappropriate stuff.
Point is: changes were made throughout the history of these forums due to people being offensive, overly explicit, bullying, etc. Mods are only the latest change. -
I think having mods might work if some things about the whole system were added and changed, but as many have said before the way the mods were chosen was for the most part a popularity contest, which isn't a good way for them to be chosen considering a mod who doesn't like geek has been his posts and adding time to his limit. Not extreme, but not cool at all nonetheless.
