Thread Topic: The key to being a good user on gtq (or any other site)

Now, this's gonna be a long one. Im not going to laze out and quick, Im just gonna type out my views and beliefs on what it means to be a good user, which in turn could actually help you with other people in your life. If you object to my views, Im open to intelligent coversation in this forum.I dont care who I offend, because this is one of those instances where offence is, while not to a 'trolling' extent, needed.
First of all, we need to discuss the topic of new users. I know how immature they can be. I know how painfully annoying some of them can be. Nevertheless, I think all of us users, new and old (if you consider 3-4 years 'old'), need to learn a bit of tolerance. Im saying that instead of ridiculing them, we need to snow these so-called 'noobs' the ropes of the site before they do end up changing the site for worse. What's more, I challenge you all to teach and enforce the rules positively, meaning, if the user's doing something wrong unknowingly, dont just type 'e.e', cuss them out, etc. Be courteous, however, be firm when they willfully break the rules, report them, and ignore them. Also, dont be a dick to people you dont like, if they do something you dissaprove of, leave them alone. Veteran users, dont look down on new users because either they're new or immature, try talking to them, at least. They may not know how to act simply because you ignore them and treat them poorly.
Secondly, Gotoquiz.com is neither a sex chat site nor a sex-chat site, meaning, please dont do cybersex or sex chat on a site thats designed for general discussion, not obscene sex-pandering conversation. If sex is your thing (to which I feel sorry for you), there are plenty of other places on the infinite span of the internet where you can quench your natural urges, but this ain't the place for it.
Also, drama. Personally, I dont condone it, but hell, the majority of members on this site are teenagers which is the main target for drama. Stop pretending itll just go away if we do the 'right things' as members and completely ignore it. At our age group, drama is so common that im surprised why you guys are so hell-bent on making sure that no drama happens, which puts users like myself and others in a postition of pressure, especially if we disagree with another user or are going through tough times with no way to vent without getting ridiculed by others. Drama exsists, dont pretend it doesnt or try to stop the inevidable nature of it.
Lastly, trolls. Really, guys? You give these guys so much to feed off of (emotions, empty threats, etc) that they stay. Why cant we peacefully ignore them and report them like the 'mature young adults' we make them out to be. Ignore them (or smart-ass 'em, but thats another approach altogether). Too much has been said on this topic for me to say anymore without sounding repetitive and 'just like everyone else'.
I hope you all take these ideas and practices under consideration, because with them we may (or may not) make gtq a better place. -
For once, I read a post this long, and I agree.
-
Absol: Thank you.

I like it,but honestly I feel like as long as everyones having a good time its a good website.Y'know-no constant arguing or dull conversations, stuff like that.
-
6: I agree, thats the point of a website like this. I want to help promote that idea.
-
If people are annoyed and wish to express it there's nothing wrong with that and so if someone wants to post "e.e" they can. New or old people can be annoyed.
-
Im just saying to try to be nice to others, is all.
-
that wasn't long it was short

Trolls are trying to get a reaction out of people. Don't give them what they want and their efforts are wasted. Worst thing to do is respond to them because that keeps them going.
Thanks for good advice, StitchedHeart. -
Lately I ignore drama and the users who annoy me. I don't walk to trolls all that much either. Since I started doing it, this place was fun again

Thanks, Gtqguy. Im glad you took the time to read this.
Ds: makes sense. -
