Slim- Its good to join to serve your country but remember this question 'are you willing to die for your counrty?'
-
Well, Slim, I mean, I have a tab up about the marines. It's the website: steelsoldiers.com and it's talking about the marines. Well, why do you want to be in the marines?
-
goood point.
i think i am willing to die..death doesn't or has never scared me...but the thing is it's not really about my country...although it is a great service don't get me wrong i love America....but, really it's for diff reasons...and i don't know if i wanna join or don't and it's a hugely important desiccation and it's kinda ripping me... -
Steelsoliders.com has opinions from real marines and whatnot, is what I'm reading. But Kirsteen is right.
-
the marines are the elite of the elite, any branch you talk to will tell you that "oh the marines? well they work to hard"
so...and also you have to have a big fat pq and iq, and aptitude tests and all sorts of intelligence as well as psychical capability...
BUTT it would mean that- givin my moms health might or might not be dead..my lil bro will grow up 4 years without me..idk..also i really might die so,.. -
they are the 911 force for the simple reason that they arrive on field and for 3 months America mobilizes forces while marines holds ground.
they do every possible job from guarding the president to on field battle situations. -
Ya- my brother just joined the army today
Well he got sworn in but isnt getting shipped out till later -
not only that but they will pay for my college edu, and thats worht alot..
but damn..this is a hard choice.. -
I was reading about it, just a min. ago and one of the posts said, "Once a marine. Always a marine." Here's a few more, Slim:
I hear good things for the most part but some say the Gov won't let your leave when your times up... I may not get into the area of training I'm looking for ( I want mechanic, not front line stuff).. I just don't want to be lied to by my recruiter... Or killed in Basic..
It was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. It is a title you will carry with you for the rest of you life also. Go out into a parking lot and walk around, do you notice Marine bumber stickers on cars, they are proud to be called Marines. My true friends are all Marines, it is a brother hood. The average Marine only does 4 years in our Corps, but he will carry being a Marine to his grave, then. it's off to guard the streets of heaven!
I don't think I would let a poll decide whether or not you should join the Marine Corps. On that note however, its what you make of it. You can either gain from the experience or let it be a big waste of your time and Uncle Sams money. The people whom I've talked to who had not such a pleasent cruise with the Marines are ones usually who didn't want to be there in the first place.
Those are different comments from marines/questioners about the marines. Hope this helps... -
my family is military mostly so i know the recruitment scoop...but...what i'm struggling with is: can i leave my fam to do this??
-
Hmm... good question..
-
Um... Do you think you would be able to?
-
i don't know. if it's gonna be bad i wont. and i know that about me.
but it's just four years and...lol the marines apealls very strongly to me for so many reasons... -
Well, do you think you'll ever regret joining?
