  I believe that marriage is for life, and that both genders are equal, so some of this is pissing me off

  I don't think women should stay in the kitchen or anything like that. And I think it's just as wrong for a man to be possessive as it is for a woman to be possessive. So yea, I say both genders are equal too. As for marraige being for life... it's a good goal to strive for. Marraige means different things to different people. It doesn't neccessarily mean monogamy. Marraige is really about finding comfort in your partner and not wanting them out of your life and being able to share everything with them. As long as all that is there, and both people are living up to each other's expectation of monogamy(if there is one), the marraige is healthy.
