Honestly, if you start flaunting gay pride without provoction you actually destroy the meaning. Pride only really exists if you've accomplished something. So when gay rights are won, "Gay Pride" is the right thing to say. But if you're just saying it to see how many people you can get to agree with you, you are destroying the very meaning behind it. It's sad to see so many people shouting out gay pride without a second thought when the only reason you can say that without being attacked is because of the other gay people who actually fought to earn those rights.
If you're gay you can be happy to be gay. Or if you're not gay you can be happy for them, or you can even approve of gay rights. But dont be proud. It isnt an accomplishment to be gay. Save "Pride" for when it's actually deserved. -
