There are several controversial topics.
Say if it was an gay writing something they'd likely even say some gay supportive speech in there.
If it was done by someone who does not support homosexuality they'd write that.
Or if this was written before when gays started appearing out of nowhere it probaly wouldn't even mention them.
No matter which way it is written it either supports or is against gays. Meaning it is down to the personal preference of the author/publisher.
Meaning that anyone who is worked up about the oppinions of 1 person is obviously getting far to worked up about 1 thing.
tl;dr
